Just updated from 10.X to 11.0.2. After the update, Bluetooth stopped working. After I returned home, I shut the car off and then powered the phone down. Restarted everything - no problems.

on the 11.1 beta and I can't play any music over bluetooth. It just doesn't do anything when I select my phones name from the list. Its connected and paired, but it just doesn't work. It worked for 1 day, maybe 2 after I updated to the latest 11.1 beta and now its just shit again.
This is driving me insane. I don't know why Apple always breaks this shit every year. How many fundamental changes are they making to how BT works that this needs to be a problem.

Drove the car today after a while. Using my 2016 F80, the iPhone 8 on iOS 11.0.3 is still behaving oddly. On Bluetooth it randomly skips tracks before the song is over, sometimes only lets tracks play for like 10-15 seconds. When I try and change the song using HUD it often plays a diff song from what I selected. Sometimes it also does this weird thing where my playlist tracks appear as song~1, song~2, song~3. There's no seeming rhyme or reason why it does this either especially since sometimes it just works fine for a while (usually after a restart of my iPhone). When it's behaving weirdly I try connecting via USB and it does not change matters. The one thing that I found worked today was to go through Media to select a song to play and then it plays the songs appropriately.
Have tried deleting bluetooth profile and re-adding. Also this is a different device from the device I was using when in beta. To add to the strangeness, in my X3 loaner, the same phone worked perfectly fine over Bluetooth with zero issues (the car had no nav) so I thought newer systems maybe were ok but BIGW0RM above described having issues on what looks like iDrive 5 or 6 so I'm out of ideas. Maybe 11.1 will fix all this finally

Workaround for BT problem
Having my F82 2016 in a Germany, I have the same problems since using an iPhone 8: Nav rebooting when hearing music or making calls randomly.
iPhone 7 is working well with iOS 10 or 11.x. I tried also iOS 11.1 and no changes on the iPhone 8: it is not working properly. The workaround for me is not syncing the contacts: iPhone -> settings -> Bluetooth -> *yourBMW* -> (i) -> uncheck sync contacts Than I can hear music, making calls etc. But I can not use the adressbook in the car. I have to use Siri. Incoming calls are not recognized. Funny is when I am looking for an update (bmw.de/update) with my VIN the system recommends a version for a 2012 3series. |

I believe my issues have been fixed as of latest 11.1.2 (15B202). Haven't had any issues and have driven the car quite a bit but will report back if anything changes. Others seeing improvements?

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but my Bluetooth turns on and off frequently. That's if my car even recognizes it half the time. I have to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on and go to the media button to connect it. I have one of the first software versions of my car. Could that be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
