1. OEM cats are pancaked to fit in the tight area and I would estimate them to be about 1/3 to 1/4 length of the DP (I will take pictures when they are off the car).
2. No, we will not do catted DPs.
3. It is our shop's old school Mini.

Our down pipes are constructed from only US 304 Stainless Steel (not Chinese Steel) and our welder has a proven track record for building beautiful exhaust systems for many high horsepower vehicles.

That MINI is the Avian flu. Sickness!

No, the Mini is not for sale. It is Alex's baby, it just sits in our showroom. We actually have another one which is a '64 MKI Cooper S, all original, looks exactly the same but with dark blue exterior and Ferrari tan interior. The engine of the red one is all original, fuel-injected, but Alex is contemplating on putting a K20 swap with a turbo and AWD with CR-V trans-axle (his dad and brother will kill him if he does though as they want this to stay stock unlike all of their other cars).

Back on subject with our down pipes though, we will have more information on them this week!

My comments were in no way critical of your materials, process or people. It was merely to indicate that in no way whatsoever does handmade and made in the USA automatically equate to high quality. Similarly made in China also in no way equates to low quality.

M tax + early adopter tax = $1350 piece of pipe.

Seems about the same price as Akra... you can draw your own conclusion on pricing, but it's good to be first to market.

They said they're coming this week? Give them a break, they are probably recovering from the 4th of July.

+1 on the sound clip. Would like to hear what it sounds like with these on there.

BTW the downpipes look good and nothing wrong with being 1st to the market.

I know this is the Engines section so I will keep it brief, we have chosen to revise our price on the down pipes. More info can be found in the Sponsors Section.

Look good and the gains look nice. Any way you could post up a sound comparison video so we can hear the difference between stock DPs and yours? That video is all high-RPM and we don't have anything to compare it to.

To everyone doubting doubting whether these "just pipes" are worth the money, you need to take into account the fact that these are made from scratch products designed, tested, tested, and tested again for perfect fitment on a platform for which nobody has ever made a similar product, ever. Making the first of anything takes a lot of time and effort, and R&D for a good product is never cheap.

Very cool, hp curve also looks much nicer towards the top end. Something many people would like given how some feel the car tapers off in the upper rpm band.
