Finally, real life pictures of the 18" wheels on a production car. Big thanks.

Now I'm rethinking the 19's...although the 19's are high on the value list of options, heck the tires cost more than $1200.

18 rims are very nice and I will use them as a winter rims. And on PSS tires as for raining track days.
19 Rays for summer)

The tires are pricey yes, but they aren't $1200 more than the 18" ones, so that comparison is not necessarily fair. A good question to ask might be whether a set of 19" wheels and tires will cost $1200 more than a set of 18" wheels and tires on the open market (either new or barely used). Hard to say at this point. Also hard to say if the black 19s will carry a higher price than the silver ones (seems plausible, at least for new ones).

Thanks OP for the pix. I was all for the Mineral Grey (was even considering changing my colour 4 weeks out from my build date), but now I have seen it in the sun with these picks, it all looks a little bit ordinary, kind of like every other mainstream BMW on the road. Also its darker than I was expecting (and the previously posted car show pix). Having owned a jerez black M3 for the past 6.5 years I will not be going a dark colour again. The look dirty 10 mins after you clean them.

Too small. Only get 18s, if you are going to go with non-bmw 19s.

+1
Another reason is if you don't get CCB. These fit the car well in design, but too small.

For me the weight is not a big deal. I just happen to be surrounded by man-eating, tire destroying, suspension alignment destroying type potholes. The 19's are nice and are a good value but the 18's actually have some sidewall and have the same width tires so grip should be pretty much unchanged. I got the adjustable suspension and the 18's so I can stay out of the dentist's office getting my fillings replaced and actually enjoy the ride.

Used to be you upgraded to a bigger wheel/tire from the manufacturer to get perhaps a more performance oriented wheel (wider, lighter, stiffer sidewall) and more tire on it.

However, here, it's the same width and weight and it's very arguable how much more sidewall stiffness you gain considering they are Michelin PSS.

So now it's about appearance really at the possible expense of durability? BMW has not been making resilient tire/wheel packages on their thin sidewall models these past ~8 years (since the e90 really).

I own an e39 m5 with fat fenders and the same size as the F80 in terms of wheelbase, length, and width. While 19's look nice, to me it fits perfect with 18's and rocking the stock 275/35/18 on the rear. A bit of meat on the tire just looks right.

And those are some sexy 18" wheels.

Wow, the detailer has done a great job with this car, I've never seen an MG car with such shine. Looks really nice.

I had the same exact thought but my reaction was to the tires - they are perfectly shined and "blended" into the tread pattern. That's a really outstanding show detail right there.

P.s. Really like the sonoma beige leather sneak peak. Have seen so few real life photos of that color interior. Considering it on white.

Thank you for sharing!! Mineral is by far the classiest color for the M3/M4 next to the Carbon Black

I'll ask again, how do you get ferric gray 18" wheels? The configurator shows them as silver without an option to select ferric gray.

If you click the 19 inch option they also show silver despite being partly ferric gray in real life.

So I believe there is something wrong in the configurator.
