1900 mile gts for 114k?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I've been keeping an eye out and just saw this the other day. Am I missing something or is that where values are for cars with a few miles on them? Rm

It seems there still are some good deals right now. 2 new ones on cars.com for 126,000 as well as used ones as low as $115,000.
It will not last since there are only 28 for sale as new in the US down from 350. They sold out in every other country and the used ones are all way over MSRP. |

115k to 120k is right around where the new cars sitting on lots should be going for. Play hard ball with the dealers, we should be at the point where it's becoming an expensive proposition for them to keep these cars in the showroom.

prices will keep falling... this car doesn't match the p-car competition and gets spanked by the domestic rivals (ford gt350r, gm zl1-1le) for half the price also nothing special or be-spoke (like e92 m3 gts) so hardly a collector item.
I bet you'll see used ones drop to sub $100k in 6-12 months. It's should of been a $90k car to start. |

As soon as the dealers sell out, the prices will go up. Not one for sale under $200,000 in Germany or most of Europe. Problem with the US is they released too many at once (350 units). Now down to less than 30 new ones on dealers lots. I would think Europeans know what a good sports car looks and feels like and prices up to $250,000 reflect it down there. M4 Gts actually sells for more than 911 gt3s in some occasions due to exclusivity. Performance is one thing, collectibility another. Most of those cars will sit in a garage unfortunately. The 911 GT3 is the better car but every new GT3 make the prior one a thing of the past. More than 14,000 911 gt3s have been made... We will see who is right a year or two from now... |

I'm not sure who in europe is paying $250k for a GTS, they must have more money
than they know what to do with or have been living in a closet for the last year. I'm specifically addressing the US market, BMW's second largest globally. 350 cars is not alot in that regard. |

The collectors won't float the US GTS market because: A. There are too many of them B. BMW lacks the brand prestige C. It's not a supercar D. It's priced out of the reach for many of BMW fans that do appreciate the car *See the CLK 63 black series if you are wondering what will happen to GTS values |

My personal thinking on this is the GTS pricing will be similar to what we saw with the 95 M3LTW. It sat on car lots for up to two years. Was ultimately discounted. Then as the years went by, it began to escalate in price. Many were used as track cars. some sat around in garages. Some wrecked and some turned into race cars.
I doubt the GTS will be turned into race cars, but the other three outcomes will occur. BMW has not built a market for this car the way Porsche did for the GT3 over many years. just like they did not build a market for the 95 M3 LTW. Bashing this car or BMW as no purpose, and comes across as childish. If a person with money wants an investment, buy stocks or some other appreciating asset. If you want to invest in cars and put them in a climate controlled garage there are probably other choices that will bring about a quicker return on your money than the GTS. After registration, insurance, maintenance, tires, storage, etc., for most of us mortals (unlike Reggie Jackson or Jay Leno) cars are not a great way to make money. Many of us like to tell our spouse, and friends, what a great deal we got, and justify and rationalize our decision. Yet Enzo Ferrari will tell you that cars were created to be driven, and raced. When it comes to driving this car, it is quite a joy! Whether the joy is worth some $1xx,xxx.xx to an owner, is certainly for them to decide. Personally, I think, when carefully examined, the car is worth it. BMW could have said lets hit a particular price point, build what we can for that $ amount. But instead they decided to throw what they had at it and then price it. In time they will build something faster, or quicker, or quieter (electric), or more expensive, lower, smaller, whatever. Probably never the same. For those still thinking about the GTS, I say go drive one, see what you personally think. If you like it, find one now. If you don't like it or think it is worth it than continue your search. Most car buyers did not want a Yenko Camaro, or a 356 Porsche when they were easy to buy. Have Fun out there |

C63 Black has those magic attributes everyone always mentions, that no longer exist...normally aspirated and hydraulic steering. Every new tech in the M4 GTS will be much better in the next gen M4 GTS. I don't see a reason why it will hold or go up in value. Compounded with the fact BMW has said more special editions are coming to the US, including rumored M2 GTS with S55. Current GTS will not exceed E92 M3 GTS values in 5 years. Due to the E92 being the last of a dying breed. Last edited by hellrotm; 07-19-2017 at 06:06 PM.. |

That's reaching a bit. The price will stabilize once the dealers clear out the remaining inventory because most owners need to sell will be dictated by lack of garage space instead of financial penalties. After that, the market will be set by the condition of the car and the loss that owners are willing to accept. Since this a limited production vehicle and it if I was to treat my car as some other owners (ie 5000ish miles a year of light use), it's doubtful that I would accept any offer that exceeds a 10% annual loss threshold of the MSRP within the warranty period. Once factory coverage is up values will shoot all over the place, the below 2500 mile examples will remain over 115k and ones such as mine will probably command something in the mid 90's. Truthfully, now is the best time to buy because of the heavy discounts. The 15 or 20k you save buy waiting for them to hit your price point will quickly be obliterated when something goes pear shaped. As with all BMW's it's not a question of "if", but a question of "when".

And there you go. And thats a starting number!! Remember when all the fanboys said car would never ever be under MSRP!! LOL! Got offered one of these from the same dealer that got me my GT3 and GT3RS and knew the writing was on the wall. And it was way more than 25k off sticker! The GTS is a 90k car tops! JMHO.
