2014 BMW M4 - Opti Gloss coated

Being fortunate and able to detail such a beautiful machine - 2014 BMW M4 in Marina blue colour. This Marina blue colour is not very common in Vancouver Canada and it is actually very unique when this beast is driven in the city.

I did a 1 stage polish on the paint in order to remove several paint defects induced by the dealership. After that, the vehilce was wiped down with alcohol in order to remove any polishing oil. Then the vehicle was protected with Optimum Opti Gloss which will enhance the glossy appearance of the vehicle. The coating will protect the paint surface up to 2 years.

Hope you all enjoy =)

oil grease / lubricant at door jamb

unknown stain on the hood

insane brake dust due to the combo of the brake set up

foam cannoned to remove loose dirt on the paint surface

scratch which was induced by dealership

scratch was corrected so that it would not be noticeable

After opti gloss coating

polished exhaust

Owner does a good job in keeping the vehicle clean and swirl free. I was just there to enhance the exterior protection / appearance of the vehicle.

Yes, Opti Pro ( Professional detailer version) / Opti coat ( commercial version) is a hard wearing, aftermarket, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and chemical etching from environmental impacts.

They claim that this coating is permenant and the only way to remove it is by polishing the coating off.

The coating works as a second layer of clear coat. Unfortunately you can not or do not need to top up any wax / sealant on it as the wax will not be able to form any bonding on the opti coat`s surface.

Opti Gloss on the other hand provides a very glossy appearance and you can top up wax or sealant on it in order to enhance the wetness result.

However, Opti Gloss will only last up to two years.

Garage List
So, 2 questions

1) Can you apply Opti Pro on a car that's been on the road for 4 months (i.e. contains stone chips, or do we have to fix those first?)
2) How much will professional charge to apply the Opti Pro?

Thanks.

From what I've read online they are not the same thing. You can buy opti gloss but not opti coat http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-coat.html

I've touched up stone chips on my car before and you should do the same or have the detailer do it for you before applying the product. It only makes sense to do it before. The price will vary from one person to another.
