I am going to look into swapping out that seat back with one from a regular F30, with no integrated headrest. Hopefully I have a couple of years before my daughter gets tall enough for that to be a problem. I like the high back booster since it keeps my daughter in about the right position for the seatbelt. When she gets tired she tends to slump to one side, which puts the belt in a dangerous position.
My kids are 2.5 and 4.5 and I fear the same issue. Both kids are in Recaro ProRides. I'm ok now because F30 headrests pop right out, but not so for the F80. So I don't know what you mean by "swap"? You mean swap out the whole F80 seat? Seems a bit extreme (and$$) vs. buying a shorter-back car seat but I dunno.

Bet your daughter loves it though!

Yes, it looks like the folding part of the seat can be replaced with an equivalent F30 part. Surprisingly it's not terribly expensive - less than $300 from Tischer for a leatherette one. Less than a lot of high end car seats.

My problem is that you can't really find a shorter high back car seat. The Britax booster I had definitely didn't fit, which is why I tried the Recaro.

Thanks for the pics regarding the Performance Sport. I am actually thinking about picking one up for my 2 year old daughter; I think our current Recaro ProRide might be too big for the M.

Aside from LATCH belt and fixed headrest issue, any other thoughts on the seat (ie front seat legroom, do the kids like it ) lol?

The main issue I had with the Recaro Performance Sport seat is that the LATCH belt is a single belt that goes across the back of the seat and it is maybe 2" too short to easily get both connectors to latch. I got it in with a lot of swearing (though not as much as when I put it in the back of a GT-R.)

Here is my f80 with the recaro baby seat rear facing, plenty of space for the seat and plenty of space in the front for my wife. My daughter has lots of room behind my seat also. I'm so glad I picked the M3 for the extra 2 doors, makes life so easy when I have my son in the car every day.

Kids love their seats. I like the belt mechanism much better than the Britaxes we had before - less likely to tangle and very smooth. Legroom is very good, though I'm 5' 7" and usually don't have space issues in any car.

Cup holders in the Performance Sport are only elastic webbing, which means my son can't put anything in them himself when belted in. Performance Booster has real cup holders.

Here's my Britax Pinnacle G1.1 ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Car Seat for my 5 year old. ClickTight system is awesome. Really easy to use and the seat is solid. I can't move the seat at all. With Latch I had to press down on each side of the seat to tighten. ClickTight does this in one step.

Prince Lionheart protectors. used the same ones in my Audi A6 for 4 years and leather was still like new. It does pinch into the headrest about one inch.

Also have a full size front seat back protector. All the ones in the stores were too small. got this on amazon.

And last pic is a warning to be careful with the Latch plastic covers. Mine fell into the hole and I can't get it out. I will forever be haunted by the future rattles from this cheap piece of cr**. And I now have a big hole in my back seat.

It's actually not that bad, push the seat all the way forward to get the baby car seat in, since it has a base I don't have to get in the back I can get the car seat in from outside.
