Hi! Today we compared ZCP exhaust sound vs non ZCP sound... my friend just got his beautiful black 6MT ZCP M3 yesterday. His car is in break in period... this is probably not the "definitive" sound of his ZCP.

We didn't exceed 3/4K RMP except me in the second vid. Cars clearly doesn't sound the same . ZCP is deeper and in Sport / Sport Plus it has a lot of "burbles" when lefting the throttle. We tested efficient and sport modes.

One more thing that has kept my attention is that ZCP seats seems to be more sporty than non ZCP seats. ZCP rims look very nice in real life!

1st vid (one after one revving)

2nd vid (both revving)

Here are more shots:

As you can see my car was super clean

Sounds real good, the MCP car. This is how it should have been from the start.

GREAT photo, BTW.

Im not realy impressed with the ZCP. To be honest it doesn't sound any better then stock....just different. I get its not great to make a comparison from an iphone recording, but this example doesn't do much for me. Id be curious to hear how MPE compares to them.

Not even close to MPE in my opinion... It doesn't produce more sound but a different sound. Cold start is better to me (more gaz when starting). Now the car is in break-in period... we need to do an another comparison later.

We did the vids with an iPhone 6S.

ZCP seats have huge side bolsters. Never noticed that before, they look fantastic in that shot.

Any videos of the CP in motion doing flybys or acceleration runs?

Did you drive it? How's it compare to your F80?

Exhaust sounds similar but the farting seems to be non existent at least at that rev level. If they've manage to tune out that hideous farting, that alone would be worth the ZCP to me.
I like that the ZCP sounds like it has pops and burbles not overrun flatulence.

Really disappointed in BMW for this overrun farting in our cars.

thank you for posting. Clearly ZCP sounds different and more burbly. Also looks like the side bolsters in the ZCP are much bigger than in the non-ZCP.

Is this true? That passenger seat in that photo looks identical, so I think it may just be an optical illusion.

You're absolutely right.

The seats are identical (except for the holes in the ZCP).

The angle and scale are different between the two photos.

It's the same reason the steering wheel appears to be huge in the top photo, the space seems larger around the idrive controller, etc., etc.

Seats are the same size...

The seats look different to me. Getting rid of the lumbar support probably allowed the seat to be recessed more into the backing.

Hedoniste Can you confirm?

Not going to happen I know but there should be a recall on all non zcp M3 for muffler. Just shows they really didn't put the R&D into the sound of this car until after it was released and negative feedback all over the Internet and YouTube.

Maybe you are right. My first reaction when I sat in the car was that seat was more sporty than in my car. I am not thin maybe my seat are sort of "break in" for my body and I was wrong about the fact that the side bolsters in the ZCP were bigger

No yet. We are waiting the end of the break-in period (at least 1200 miles) to do some acceleration runs.

Yes he let me drive the car. I didn't push it so I have absolutely no idea yet about an objective comparison. I never tested a 6MT F8x before. Rev matching feature is nice!

Damnit, I'm still not quite sold on the 666's. I'm dying to be. It's the only roadblock in the entire package.

I am loving the burbles and pops from the CP. That however seems more ECU induced than from the exhaust.
