Still trying to figure mine out. Right now they're set like this:
M1- sport, sport, sport, D2, DSC On, standard HUD M2- sport+, sport+, sport, S3, MDM, M-view HUD Like I said, I'm still playing with the settings to figure out what I like best. So far the M1 setting has gone unchanged since I set it and I use it on the daily commute. Why couldn't BMW let you set a default!!! |

After about 5-6 weeks, I finally got it. 3 settings:
Default at start: efficient/sport/sport. This is actually perfect for me for wet roads and casual easy and quiet driving (I have MPE). M1: Sport/Sport/Sport/D2/full SC/normal HUD. : All purpose driving. M2: Sport+/ Sport+/Sport/D3/full SC/M HUD : sportier driving. I have decided that I will only goto MDM mode when I directly choose it, as to not ever be in it without consciously choosing it. Last edited by tremendo; 04-03-2016 at 11:50 AM.. |

M1: Sport plus for throttle since I rev-match myself, Comfort for suspension, and Sport for steering with the normal heads-up display.
M2: Sport plus for everything and Heads-up display to M mode. |

What we should have is an M3, don't you think? Only appropriate for the M3 drivers!
M1 Is efficient and comfort all the way, M2 is Sport all the way, S2 and M3 would be Sport+, Sport+, S3

picked up the car about 2 weeks ago. Before leaving dealership assistant there programmed
M1:all sport/d2/dsc on M2:all sport+/d2/dsc on. His only warning was not to hit m2 too often since the first 1200 miles should be under 5-5000 rpms. It seems that the default is comfort which is ok since I would wake up the neighbors. Awesome sound when pressing the buttons though |

M1:Sport,Comfort,Comfort - like the throttle response and sound of Sport but like the smoother ride for general driving.
M2:Sport,Sport,Sport - more for fun back roads Only done 1,000 miles, have not used Sport+ much as trying to break it in properly. |

How do you have your M1&M2 buttons programed?
What's your programmed setting for cruising? What's your setting for performance?

M1 efficient/comfort/comfort/dct 1 for cruising
M2 sport plus/sport plus/comfort steering/dct 3 street - I sometimes switch to S3 by manually changing gears. I prefere the steering to stay in comfort though, maybe I'm just too lazy. I keep traction on for the M2 program also.

M1 - S / S / S+ (I like the heavy steering)
M2 - S+ / S+ / S+ (Euro MDM) I'm fine w the defaults (efficient, comfort) but I rarely use them unless sitting in traffic. |
