Quick slip at 3k for a speedy launch. Upshift to second requires some very very small and quick slip to keep the backend stable

Nitto 555R rears(285/40R18) set to 23psi street pressure.... Just wow!!

NEVER dump the clutch, instead slip at 2500-2800rpm and it freaking FLYS!!

I have launched it 5 times in the last week and OMG! This thing just takes off with 0 slip... Yes, I said 0 slip with these tires(almost inaudible chirp with TC fully off). It either slightly bogs then takes of or just lurches forward and flys off. You have to feather the clutch and throttle to get the perfect balance. I just get a hard, clean and quick chirp shifting hard into 2nd.

You have to be delicate with the clutch, modulating and feathering using the throttle and clutch together to catapult it off the line. I like to think of it as the left foot, right foot ritual where you find the perfect balance and avoid wheel spin by not just hammering he throttle like an on/off switch.

With sticky tires I freaking love this thing in warm temps! I have to make a vid, never thought a RWD, 6 speed torque monster can launch like this.

My technique

- Rev like crazy to intimidate the other guy.
- Depress clutch.
- Put stick into 1st gear.
- When light turns green, just drive like you normally do.
- Watch as the Mustang burns out then quickly loses control... ending up on the curb.
- Slowly drive past with troll face.

...Not sure but I think this launch might need a little tweaking!

Love that video (and all the others like it), no sympathy for people who do that.

That one month where all those memes came out were absolutely brutal for Mustang drivers. But I laughed my ass off, there were some seriously good ones

My entire life I have always had Audi's with AWD and have never in my 17 years of driving (im 34) done a burn out. I have logged many hours of track time (all in Audis) and STILL have never attempted a burnout.....

I have an F80 arriving to NYC around June 15th and I am both excited and terrified at the prospect of doing a burnout....

So I had a chance to try a couple launches tonight. MDM/DCS off, 2500ish RPM's, with moderate gas and I bogged some off the line. I think I came off the clutch a bit slow, without slipping. I really was overthinking it. Very little wheel spin and a good chirp on second gear. Gotta keep practicing...

What do you consider a "quick slip"? Semi engaging the clutch of just a somewhat slower release of the clutch pedal?
