News flash!! Fanboys is not really a derogatory term and that is what makes a car related forum anyway. What would the point of a BMW forum be if there weren't a bunch of BMW fans to post on it.
If it were a CAR related forum, we could enjoy all cars for their merit. No need to circle jerk over a roundel.

I'm another BMW fan surprised by all the hate. I friend of mine has a Maserati GT and it is a beautiful car and sounds great. The performance difference between the GT and an F8X means nothing for daily driving, unless one is a stoplight racer (). The OP is leasing, got a good deal, and is happy. He'll probably move on in 3 years and enjoy the ride in the process. Sure, the car is not for me for any number of reasons, but I respect the OP's choice.

Anyway, beautiful car and enjoy it!

Has it been done? Yes. Is it "on average" as the previous poster said? Not at all. The 11.6 run you referenced was on a seriously good track and was clearly downhill. The norm is going to be well into the 12s. My F-type, for example, which runs about 11.7, is so much faster in the first two gears, it feels like a different level. The M4 has a very solid 3rd gear, which I called the glory gear, because if I was going to win a race in that car, it would be in that gear. After that, it drops off. But overall nowhere as fast as the F-type. So while some people have hit 11s supposedly in stock form, it's by no means an easy feat or possible on every car. And other cars on those tracks might also run exceptionally fast times.

Regarding the Maser, I haven't driven one. I can only give my experiences based on what happened. Maybe the car is underrated. Ferrari does make good engines, and they might have downplayed its performance so as not to get too close to the Ferraris. That may be why there are so few reviews done, because Ferrari doesn't make them readily available for testing. I don't know. Whatever the case, it was faster than I was expecting.
False false false, this post is just fake news. Plenty of mags and people have ran 11s stock in the f8x dct. the f type is a small hair faster then an f80... especially a comp which puts down power well. Trap speeds tell the story

Bimmerpost.com - can expect BMW bias. Yes, we can still enjoy other cars - that wasn't my point.

Yeah I know the website as I've been a member here for about 8 years. It's one thing to have a preference to a brand, but to snuff others when they choose something else? Grow up. Incest killed off the Habsburgs. You don't always have to keep it in the family.

Very happy to hear about your new car!

I actually am very interested in trying out the mas GT as my next car. Please put up a review with comparisons between the two.

The price difference is so big though so I probably will jump into a pre owned (maybe 3 years?) one when the new GT rolls out presumably next year.

I am quite happy the maserati depreciates so much so i could afford a relatively new one and I hope when the new model finally comes out the older ones will be even cheaper.
