Definitely not the first time I've heard that.

Here's one of my favorite ones.

ATC: “TWA 2341, for noise abatement turn right 45 Degrees.”
A/C: “Centre, we are at 35,000 feet. How much noise can we make up here?”
ATC: “Sir, have you ever heard the noise a 747 makes when it hits a 727?”

Still flying - now in civilian SAR. Still enjoying flying and hoping to stay at it for years to come. Not missing the militry, that's for sure.

This question may be hard to answer based on circumstances, but am I the only guy who bought a new m3/m4 who is only making 90-100k instead of 150+ like I swear most people on this board make...?

Nah, I make around the same as you and bought one. No kids or other debt though.

I make computers do what I tell them and am a data janitor at work.

Maybe.

No-one's posting salaries. Definitely not getting that personal. You never know what people's overheads are like - it may be that someone earning 150+ has less disposable than you if you are able to put a relatively higher proportion of your income towards your car.

It really depends on what you spend your money on. Some folks choose to invest their money into a nice house, paying it off in 15 years or less, and putting money into retirement. Others have kids, who cost more than most cars out there. Some guys are bachelors for life and can put a lot of money toward a car. And then some folks are rich who can afford whatever they want.

Right, salary alone doesn't tell it all.

Also depends where you live. My standard of living could be up at least one notch if I lived somewhere else.

Where you working at?

Awesome, glad to see there are more of us around here. I should be getting an opportunity to work in the Austin(GRK) area once I'm done with Korea.
