*edit: only 1 hour, that's pretty fast.

Pheerlx, we have been doing that custom "extension" for the past 3 years as well. It really adds to the protection without going overboard.
Good to know, Eric we may have to give you a try next time been reading some good stuff about you guys. You should post more project threads to showcase your work, I have seen a couple, looks top top tier work. Glad there are at least 3 top installers here in OC.

Does anyone know if there is any film installed anywhere from the factory? I had read somewhere a while back that there is factory installed film on the rear fenders, but I can't seem to find where I read that.

Yes there is film on the rear wheel well area; however, it's woefully inadequate with respect to protection and quality. It will almost certainly discolor in short order.

brand new cars....we remove it on the M3 and extend it higher and wider, and wrap the edges. On the M4, we remove it and replace it with better looking and protecting film (suntek ultra)

The standard film used by dealerships looks very orange peel like, and grainy. Its a sure stand out when you look at things from the side.

My thoughts:
Entire front bumper and lights.
Carbon Fiber roof.
Entire rocker panels and full coverage of the rear hips wrapping into the doors.

From the photos I have seen the rear hips and rockers as well as the front end get hammered. The hood, mirrors, and fenders, not so much. Its a lease but I just can't stand the rock chips while we have it, the Front end on her recent m235i looked sand blasted with just 27k miles.

I figure if I am doing the hood, then might a well do full fenders, mirrors etc, not dropping that much coin as I really just want to prevent the main problems. and what I have outlined above is gonna cost $2k.

the only other thing I was thinking about was the half bra on hood and fenders as that's the main impact area. did it on my 535, didn't bother me?
I wouldn't do a half bra on the food and fenders because over time you would develop a etched line from the PPF. Also, consider getting everything tucked to avoid exposed edges from dirt to enter. Just my thoughts..

Got the whole car wrapped by Eric and Jose at Envious detailing in OC. Great guys and even sent me update photos of the job. I know it's overkill but for BSM...my OCD took over.
