So, googling AL13 brought me to your thread. I was considering buying a set of wheels directly from AL13 - should I be concerned?

I wouldnt

I paid this a 6k deposit on paypal and a month later i had to file a dispute with paypal to get my money back. It took a while but paypal always returns your money when there is no delivery. In the end im glad i didnt get the wheels becuase ive heard people have had issues with them. I bought HRE (FF01) and paid less than half the cost ;-)

I don't know much about AL13 other than they were contracted to finish my wheels but never got around to it after months of waiting. There was plenty of blame to go around, so no idea if you ordered from them directly you'll have a good experience or not.

Honestly, I recommend avoiding boutique forged wheel companies as a general rule. It seems there's a ton popping up every day. I'd stick to companies that have been established for awhile with proven customer satisfaction. Quality wheels are a HUGE investment and it's not worth the headache. It's worth paying the premium to get guaranteed quality wheels on time, imo.

[UPDATE] AL13 reached out and explained the situation. Although I will never 100% know the truth behind what happened, they seem to have been a victim in this whole ordeal. Just to be clear, AL13 seems to be innocent in all this.

Just came across this, sorry to bump an old thread but no one should be paying 5k for any wheels from these wheel companies. These arent engineered or built in house. These are just people who realize they can middle man cheap wheels from a manufacturer and mark them up like crazy with some nice pictures. Most of them use MHT in Compton Ca.

One of these companies started in a class at a local community college, after multiple wheel failures they decided to outsource to a manufacturer.

You pay them 5k, they pay MHT $1-1500 and MHT makes and ships the wheels to you.

If you want nice quality wheels buy from HRE or BBS where you get something thats engineered not just put through a CNC. Look through the MHT site and tell me these compare to HRE/BBS/et al.
