275/40/18 Hankook RS4 fit on 18x10 +25?

I picked up some 18x10 +25 Apex EC7 square for track/autocross. I'm going to get Hankook Ventus RS4 tires.

I know the 275/35/18 will fit but I wondered if the 275/40/18 would fit? Looks to be closer to stock tire diameter?

On a related note would the 295/40/18 fit on the rear for a staggered setup?

Suspension stock, no camber plates and I plan to keep it that way for now.

that's the setup I'm planning to run whenever tirerack gets the 295s in stock... They keep delaying them. 4/1, then 4/15, 4/30 now 5/31! argh!

yea it's a bummer. I got my 275/35/18s put on square for now. If they release the 295s and I can confirm the /40s fit I might got staggered on the next set.

I just ordered a set of these, same size. Let me know how you like them, if possible. I am also thinking about going wider, maybe 18x10.5 and a wider tire but might have to be trial and error since there wasnt much info available (info was fragmented/buried in other posts with little feedback).

Pretty sure that's the max size that will fit on front. 275/40/18 might fit but I've seen no confirmation of that and I asked tire rack chat and they said no.

Bummer because you need that front size to run the 295 rears since they don't make 295/35s

FWIW - the 265/40-18 RS4s have a section and tread width significantly wider than the 275/35-19 MPSS* that everyone seems to love to run up front. The 275/40-18 RS4s are even wider! These Rs4s look like wide tires from the specs...

265/40-18 RS4 - Section width 11", tread width 9.7" Dia 26.2"
275/40-18 RS4 - Section width 11.1", tread width 10.3" dia 26.4"
295/40-18 RS4 - Section width 12", tread width 11" dia 27.1"

Stock ZCP 265/30-20 Section width 10.7", tread width 8.9" Dia 26.3"
Stock 275/3519* rears mounted up front -10.9", tread width 9.5" Dia 26.6"

The 275s are going to be *very* tight at full lock if they fit... but 10.3" is a lot of tread...

Edit - 295s show available today! Just placed my order for 265/295 setup

No issues with that fitment with your stock suspension or Swift springs.

Based on my personal experience, anything over 26.3" up front will rub even with the stock suspension.

People have gone as wide as 305's as long as you stay under 26.3", so if you're under 305 like in op's case, 285 width isnt a factor. You can run 285's as long as under 26.3".

Yeah, I've seen that thread, but 305/645-18s work out to be only 25.3" tall. That's a shorter diameter than a 305/30-18 would be...

My friend has 275/35/19 RS4s on his square setup and they fit fine at 26.4" diameter, listed same as the 275/40/18s

Will the rears 295/40/18 fit on my EC7 18x10 +25?

Issues running those rears with the 275/35/18 fronts?

i have 265/35-19 in the front and they rub on the fender liner when you cut the wheel hard under hard braking (autocross).

DCT won't like the height difference between the front and much taller rears I read...

Got mine in! Now just need my wheels to get here... I'm loving this tire tread and man they seem sticky... About like my old Kuhm MXs if I were to guess... Not as soft as V700s or true R-comps by any stretch.

That's a really good data point, thanks for sharing...

For reference, specs on those:
265-35-19 RE-71R -Section width 10.7", tread width 9.6" dia 26.3"

Quote:
265/40-18 RS4 - Section width 11", tread width 9.7" Dia 26.2"
275/40-18 RS4 - Section width 11.1", tread width 10.3" dia 26.4"
295/40-18 RS4 - Section width 12", tread width 11" dia 27.1"
smaller in every dim than the 275/40-18s in question, and see some rubbing, so the extra width of the RS-4s may be problematic.

It's more the overall diameter of over 26.3" than the width.

I'm surprised you guys didn't get the RS-4's in 275/35-18's front, 25.4".
