This would be a very aggressive setup. The inside clearance in front would be limited and you'd have to test fit prior to making a commitment to using the front wheels. The rear wheels would almost certainly not fit a 295 tire without camber adjustment.

As a guide, take a look at our 10.5 +30 BBS RE rear fitment- your 11 +31 would be an additional 5mm further outboard than our 10.5 +30 RE wheel.

I would try the 10.5 +35 as is first, and then add the 5mm spacer if you want a more aggressive look. You may like the +35 offset!

Yes, I am Russian- we came to the US in 1994.

Yes, this car should also have a fair amount of camber curve- I'm confident that the M3 and M4 will gain camber as the car is lowered, allowing for more aggressive wheel fitments.

Ilia, from what you posted, my fronts are probably ok and the rears are not if I were to use them on an M4?
Yes, your fronts will work- they'll be on the aggressive side but should fit without issue. The rears will "fit", but only using the original BMW tire size- 275. This will give the sidewall a very stretched shape that I know most M3 owners don't like, and is far from an ideal fit on a 10.5" wide wheel. I would plan on adjusting camber or pulling the quarter panels to fit a 295 width tire.

Will do! I can't wait to try more setups on these cars.

Could you test the maximum square setup for track. How much rubber can fit in the front?

What would the % difference be at 285/30 Fronts and 305/30 rears. 9.5 front 10.5 rear tires.

I think BMW got the wheel dimensions perfectly. Will HRE and BBS offer 9" and 10" wheels?

What do you think about my BBS LM's 9.5 et32 and 10 et 25 fitting the M3? I run a 10 spacer up front and 5 rear on e92 m3 now.

Do you think 305s will clear on the rear without modification?

In short, can the F8X platform accept the aggressive tire sizes and fitments that the E9X M crowd could? I recall people dipping into the high teens for offsets on pretty wide tires.

This is more a general comment and compliment: I just can't believe how quickly and comprehensively the American tuner scene moves on the new cars. It's very impressive, both the variety of mod's/looks and (apparent) quality.

NA locals, count yourselves lucky to have all this close to home ....though I also have to say, all the NA tuners I've contacted via the interweb with queries or bought stuff through: that's you Turner, BMS, Apex etc, have been incredibly helpful, highly knowledgable, and turned stuff around very fast.

Peace from Moscow

I think that it will work with no spacers, it's 7mm difference on the fron offset and 5mm with the rear, so only 2mm difference is not an issue.
As PSI ahowed - the Rays with stock tires will work with et21 on the front, so my et22 will work too)

The front fitment is extremely similar to the E9x chassis cars, and once camber plates are available we'll be able to use some very meaty tires and very low offsets. The rear fitment is higher offset, to be sure, but will still allow you to use a 10.5" or 11" wheel with ease.

Absolutely! But we will more than likely have to wait for our own M3 and M4 to arrive to test setups like these, especially if we are making alignment adjustments to the setup.

That would be very aggressive! Possible with the OE width tires, but very aggressive.

HRE can custom build wheels to any width and offset you'd like, and BBS does have 9" and 10" wheel applications that will fit- I've actually sized a few already that make sense. Shoot me a PM for more info.

You could get away with a smaller spacer in front on the new car- the front hub sticks out quite a bit so using a small spacer that is NOT hubcentric is actually easier than trying to make a hubcentric spacer work. Try a 5mm spacer in front. You would have to use OE tire sizes front and rear, however, as the +25mm offset is pretty aggressive.

Absolutely! We can guide you to the right wheel offset to allow you to fit a 305 in the back without modification. There's plenty of room in the back of an F80/F82 car, you just need the right special recipe of offset to make a 305 work.

The front offsets are very close to identical to the E9x, and the rear can still accept huge wheels and tires, just in a slightly higher wheel offset. In terms of appearance and function, that won't make much of a difference- done right you can still have great looking face designs and excellent looking rear wheels, even in a slightly higher rear offset.

Thanks Rich! We're excited to share this info with the community- studying a new chassis is absolutely among my favorite aspects of being with IND.

But I hear New Zealand's beaches, roads, and women (especially women) are better, so it's a bit of a trade off.

The RE wheels are fairly light while still being very rigid due to their forged construction and face design. The RE wheels weigh in at 23.5lbs in the front, and 25lbs for the rear. Not bad for a 20" wheel!
