Man Down....

Well actually, I'm fine, but the car is injured.

Someone crossed the center line, I swerved out of the way, car slid, and hit the right curb. Bent the passenger side rims, and messed up all of my underbody (car hopped the curb). No airbags went off.

Car was not drive-able, towed to the body shop in Baltimore (Mark's Auto Body), which comes highly recommended when fixing BMWs.

All is well, all things considered, it certainly could have been a LOT worse.

So, no Hunt Valley Cars & Coffee for me tomorrow. But the car should be ready by the November 12th cruise event. Fingers crossed.

Happy travels, everyone, be safe out there, but also have some fun for me. For now, I'll live through your collective happy smiles and miles.

Have you been under the car at all to determine what, if anything, folded over itself?

If you bent both wheels what about the suspension components?

Sorry to hear and best of luck! Glad you're OK!

I'll take some pics on Monday when I get to see under the car, it's all undercarriage damage, and wheel damage.

No clue, will know more next week. But I'm sure the suspension is all beat up and broken.

Sorry to hear, Kevin. Glad you're okay though. Why did the other car cross the center line? Were they drunk, not paying attention, weather, other?

That's rough. Your attitude about it is pretty good, considering! Hopefully the car is repaired correctly and they meet the timeline given to you. This would've been me:

hahaha

It's only a car, and a toy at that. An insured toy at that.

So me being upset about it more than about 15 minutes is pointless. I'm reminded often how well I live, how lucky I am. I never forget.

On my other car, my Lexus, the license is PRSPCTV. And above it, the frame says, It's all a matter of.... ...because everything in life is.

Yes, this is what mattered most. I walked away, and I didn't hit anyone else, thank goodness.

Quickly is likely out of the question, since I want it done right, and perfect. But I'm willing to wait. It's in good hands, and my insurance agent is a high school friend, so I don't have to battle myself. She will do it all for me, on my behalf. So I don't even have to worry about it....

She said a dog ran out in front of her, though I didn't see one, but I was admittedly not paying much attention myself. I was slightly daydreaming, thinking about work. I saw her, swerved too quickly, lost control, hit the curb. She felt awful when she saw it happen. She was a really nice older lady, and she was more depressed than I was.

Thanks! It's all good, I walked away, and so did everyone else.

That's not possible, but it's OK, it's still a go. I'm riding with one of you.

What the date for the Nov cruise?

Maybe just swing by... and take mine.

Depending on the date... if the wife doesn't have plans for it... you're welcome to it.

Thanks, Mike, you are truly a gem.

But I'm not risking wrecking another M right now, I'll be fine. I can ride shotgun, I'm totally cool with that....though it would be so nice to have your car with us for pictures.

But when you get back, we'll gather again for another cruise, to celebrate your arrival stateside. Springtime pictures.

So honored though for the mere suggestion of such generosity.

Whatever you decide. Let me know.

Do need to burn through some of the fuel in the tank though.
