Was there a loss of power then? or ecu just giving more fuel thinking theres more air coming in? hmm thats a toughie, especially if limpmode only after a while, the problems does gradually happen so its hard to feel im guessin. Damn almost 16mph like me but also you got 27mph at one time...nice must be a long trip or no redlines ! lol

Yeah most driving is highway with some fun once in a while. Avg. 80(ish) mph for most of my driving but fairly steady RPMs for the most part. A lot of variability I see is due to time of day between trips. I drive to Miami often and in both the S4 and M4 it's 2 trips between fillups. If I travel during rush hours MPGs can drop by 10% - 20% vs. off peak time. The other thing is sitting in drive thrus. I'd don't do it much any longer (for reasons other than fuel) but have noticed sitting in a drive thru with the car running uses a fair amount of gas.

If anyone is interested, just had a road trip in my ZCP 2017 F80. Total miles can be seen in the pic and that was about 170 to destination a few miles being a little kid on the way to day spot and then a 160 mile or so trip back home. Highway speeds averaged 65-79. MPG was about 30/31 on trip down. And no fuel stops either until I got about 3 miles from home!

^^^That's pretty damn good - I have never gotten more than ~200 miles in a single tank.

Best part was on the way home. Started with 165 miles of range with a 154 mile trip, ended up with 80 miles of range when I go the gas station near my house.

My fuel economy is "I don't give a shit miles per gallon". Didn't buy an M4 to save on fuel.

17.5. Most days I only drive to work then home. It's about 3 miles each way, stop light to stop light.
My last long highway trip (with some mixed city driving) I was getting ~350 miles to the tank. Not great, but honestly not far off from my 335i which the M3 replaced. I guess I have a heavy foot. |

I get roughly 260/gal. I push the car to the limit from start to finish. I didn't buy the car for gussling savings or for its road trip abilities. I also find it odd when owners find this model "stiff". Buy a Cadillac if you want a smooth ride.
I'm impressed when I do travel bc my mileage per tank is over 400. |

Does NOT go above 23.5 mpg. If it does, you're not driving it right
