The size of M3/4 speaks for its practicality. It also helps in the aspect of comfort. M cars are not sports cars. They offer great performance and are suppose to do other things as well. So trying to compare it to a car that weighs so much less and can only do one thing, isn't quite fair. But it just goes to show how good the M3/4 is that is can perform as we'll and better than come other cars that are light and are strictly sports cars. BMW has to keep up with the times. So as the c63 and rs5 get larger, so will the m3/4. If the m3/4 did. It get larger, sales probably would go down as it's size is something considered when crossed shopped. Some of you people want go carts. The M3/4 size is fine for its class.

I asked a friend at BMW AG... he told me that in fact all F8x M3/M4's have a 250 kph v-max. IF you get the "drivers package" code, by doing a two day BMW driver training school... your BMW dealer can up the v-max to 280kph. On the e9x genration M3's it was more like 265 kph stock and 280 kph with the driver's package. All BMW speedo's read higher than true vehicle speed - this is done by design bc of a German law that says a speedo shall not display a speed slower than TRUE vehicle traveling speed. Normally that over correction factor is +5%. Dackel

Love that sound, great engine note. Also surprised it's only a bit slower than the M4. Two different cars though, you don't really buy them in the same class imo.

^That depends how to define "same class"IMO
In my country (the Netherlands) the Cayman is fare more cheaper then a M3-4 Cayman GTS; € 92 K F 80 M3; € 104 K F82 M4; € 105 K I guess in the US it`s the other way around ? Of course engine wise, weight wise compeltely different.... But , indeed, I was surprised too, how wel the Cayman S could hold up against the M4 ! Cayman sound is way better IMHO |

I guess after 3 pages later nobody gave a fuck about the efficient dynamic display instead of the sport display but me. I thought it's pretty cool, at least you get some animation going on
