After Tune +Jb4 install changes/issues?

Greetings Gentlemen,

I'd like to thank you all for your honest opinions on a few of my other threads. Whenever I don't feel confident in something, you guys have my back!

This time, I have another colleague of mine who's experiencing a few of the same issues and was informed to "just let it go" for now, and it may be a recall in the future if it's an issue.

Seeing how we feel strongly about our babies health we are reaching out to you all for feedback!

The Problem : Ever since we've installed our Jb4/BootMod3 + Downpipe, we've experienced this high pitched whining noise from the front end of the vehicle during idle.

He has BootMod3, I have Jb4.

We've turned it off and reverted to stock and both still experience the same issue. It's not so loud while we're driving, but the time we can really hear the noise for instance, is if we're ordering something at a drive- thru, which at that point it gets loud!

I also personally notice that the fan is always on, as if the car is hot or idling for a period of time which it is not. It's in the 25-40 degree weather here when I can hear the fan running, can't say what settings he's on but, as for me map 2, with VRSF downpipe, and intakes(same with or without on OEM though).

Just trying to understand if this is something we can bring up to BMW or if it's a direct result of us modding. Would love to hear all your thoughts, except negative ones, keep them away.

I have 450 miles on my car and I feel like I heard a faint squeel/whine too. There is a lot of moving parts, who knows

At the risk of sounding dumb. What's LPFP?

Why do you think this is it? If i was to revert to stock, do you think this is a Warranty issue?

I think he means that's the sound of a fuel pump. Some are noticeable. I don't think he means there is something wrong with it

Exactly this, i started noticing mine after i did port injection and fuel line change. Im back to stock now but Its still exactly as described and i can hear it only at idle specially at drive throughs. Not sure if its normal but my preassure in the logs is perfect so i just ignored it.

The EWG's (Electronic Wastegates) have a high-pitch hum when in certain positions. This hum becomes noticeable after a DP change for some weird reason. The wastegate flappers themselves also seem to rattle more after adding aftermarket DP's or at least you can hear all of this easier.

Cycle through your throttle modes and listen closely at idle after tapping the throttle in each mode.

Interesting, have you heard of any fixes for this?

The OEM cats muffle it, so when you go catless its more pronounced. Same thing happened on N54 motors with wastegate rattle. Once you went catless it really came alive if you had any.

My m3 started the same exact noise after the catless down pipes and jb4 was installed. I have no idea where it's coming from. Only have 2500 miles on it and just had the hood open listening to see where it's coming from.

humming is not hurting the car. It has always been there but you did not hear it with stock downpipes.

You can always post a datalog and check how the car is handling the extra power
