Not very keen on aftermarket bits on modern stuff.I have instructed in & driven a lot of E9X M3's and never found an aftermarket setup that works as well as the stock ZCP on track. They usually run out of travel when being driven at the limit and usually react really poorly to curb hopping which is often the fast way around a lot of tracks.Yes it can be sorted by fine tuning with settings & spring rates but really who has the time to do that?I sure do not!
Corner balanced kwv3 with EDC was much better than stock for me

If I undo the carbon ceramic brakes, but keep EDC, I wonder if my production date will get bumped up. Alternatively, I could take one of the many M4's in stock, without the EDC and Brakes, then install a coil over kit and some aftermarket brake pads! That would be the easy option. However, I really like the idea of the EDC and ceramic brakes.

Hmm...perhaps I'll ask my dealer if they can secure an earlier allocation or another incoming car.
In the meantime, I am being tempted with a new M6 coupe with competition package, which is available for immediate delivery! I don't mind the M6, but the price is scary!

If you are going to track the car seriously I would forget the CCB's.The standard brakes with a fluid & pad upgrade will be more than adequate.

I'm trying to figure out if there is an M4 available in Canada with EDC, Exec Package, Premium Package and M-DCT. Something in AY or YMB. If I can find one, I will ask my dealer if they can get this car for me.

However, from what I gather all the first M4's that came into Canada do not have EDC, as they were pre-production one's. Is this true?

Does anyone know which dealer might have an available car with my spec? Thanks!!!
Either this, or I'll bite the bullet and be patient...

I don't think this is true. When I ordered my car at the beginning of June there were already ones sitting on the lot with EDC that were going to be prepped for delivery.

Confirmed that the Yellow M4 at Parkview doesn't have EDC. There's 1 AY incoming with EDC that isn't spoken for, but its missing the connected drive package which I really want!

Oh well! Guess...I'll have to wait until Sept! Any earlier would be a bonus! Hopefully by this time, BMW will release the M performance parts.

You've gotta think that some of these packages--like Connected Drive--should be able to be installed by the dealer. Isn't it the case where sometimes the hardware is there, but it has to be "activated" in order to work?

Problem I have seen with all these cars in the showrooms is they are ALL configured exactly the same and NONE of them have adaptive M suspension. I don't think this feature was ready at launch which is why you cannot find a launch car that has it. You will only get it if you order it now.

I think you are correct... the early cars were all configured similarly. There are cars on lots now with the adaptive suspension but they were likely built specifically for a customer.

Do you know specifically where there is a car on a lot that is not spoken for with adaptive suspension? If I order one now they tell me it won't come until early october

Yes, exacerbated by the fact the plant is closed / on shutdown in August.

I have made the decision that I am not taking the incoming car that was ordered for me.The dealer is trying to get a July production amended to my specs which I changed my colour from Sparkling Black to Moonstone metallic.
As my wife said to me yesterday that if I take the car that is misordered,I will be using it as excuse to change cars much sooner than I normally do. Actually after Racer 20's review of his experience with his ED it was a lot easier to make this decision.

Found out today that the ordering error was a BMW issue not the dealer as everything that was sent to BMW was correctly configured. The good news is that it looks like I will be getting a July production car that is being reconfigured to my specs. This will be confirmed early in the week.

I took the oportunity to change my colour from Sparkling Black to Moonstone which is now available at the normal Metallic paint charge.i always liked this colour but it was only available as an Individual colour with a big up-charge.

Here is the colour on our friend Jamie's E90 M3

My order with the Moonstone is now accepted by BMW with a 6 week delay so I will see the car in September at the earliest. At least I still have my E92 M3 to drive till then!

Moonstone will be so unique on the road, without screaming at you. Nice choice.
