M4 and 4 Series LCI Standard LED Tail Lights Revealed

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Looks good.

Admin/moderator edit: The lights shown here are the standard LED tail lights. OLED tail lights will be offered as an option (option code: 5AN) for the M4 and 4 Series though, as spotted on prototypes.

Goddamnit BMW, this is what you call a damn LCI? It was 2014/2015 when you released the F80/2, the fact that it came with incandescent bulbs for the tail lights is pretty pathetic.

To be fair did we really expect anything more than the F80 LCI treatment for the F83/2? They look pretty similar to the F80 LCI rear lights which is to be expected.

If they offer OLED they will want to charge, as always!

Shocked, but not shocked.

I will now enjoy the tears of the hopeful that thought they were getting OLED tails for the LCI. Muhahaha

Now back to my civic M3.

I actually like them better than the OLED's. I may upgrade to these.

This has been what BMW has been doing for the M LCI treatment for years now....

So after all that speculation of OLEDs, the M4 LCI gets M3 LCI tail lights.

I wonder if it'll get the silver trimmed window buttons too from the M3 LCI lolz.

Will it be possible to retrofit M4 LCI lights to an older M4 without too much surgery?

It does make perfect sense that they will keep the same LED light treatment as M3 and not just offer OLED to M4 only.

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in these. I was really hoping it would de different from F80 version (which was disappointing).

Are we somehow entitled to something better than F80 owners? BMW is doing what is fair.

You two are thinking of the M3 (and 3 Series) LCI tail light. The M4 (and 4 Series) are on a later schedule. So they are only now getting their LCI and moving to the updated look, consistent with rest of the BMW family.

All M cars should have LED rears as standard from the off, no question. Incandescents, in my opinion, degrade an otherwise great looking car.
Even some ordinary cars run around with LEDs

I know some folks are disappointed these aren't OLED, but damn do they look good. Actually prefer these to the F80 LCI tails since they don't appear to have the "dip" in the lower bar.
