I want a last model year m4

I want to time my order right so I get a F82 M4 about 3 months before production ends. I will be doing some individual options like paint and maybe stiching and pick it up in Germany. When should I start to work with my dealer?

3-4 more years IMO
but who knows. You will just have to sit tight and follow the news. Once you start seeing the test mules for the next gen figure you have about year or so till end of current cycle

Spot on. According to http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686 the M4 will end production in June of 2020. I'd say 3 years from now is when you want to start talking to your dealer. Work on getting a January/February 2020 allocation (you won't be able to get one until December 2019) for pickup in March.

You've got a loooong wait ahead of you though.

Why do you want to get a last production model?

I really don't like that Ms are going AWD and maybe some eletric stuff. Right now I have a F32 ZHP and love it in 3-4 years it will be nice to get a M4.

Why not just get one now? I don't get why you want to wait for three years for a car that you already want now.

Another thing to consider, as a model ages, they tend to make previously optional equipment standard. Of course they also bump prices, but the added content often has more value than the bump in price.
