AA mid and rear too quiet?

Picking an exhaust system is pretty challenging on the f80 platform.

I always complained on my other cars there was not enough choices but actually led to quicker decisions and no lookint back on the decesion

I have already ordered the AA mid and was pretty certain on the AA rear also. The more videos I watch i thinking the volume might not be enough. But those videos are subjective with different camera mounting points and distance

I am not looking for anything crazy but just want to feel comfortable that the money was well spent

So those that have the system can you chime in and let me know if you are satisfied with the volume

Heard the system with Downpipe's and it sounds great but catless dp is not an option and rather save the money and buy a different rear section upfront

If no DP, get Dinan rear , easy bolt on no fitting required.

Save the money catless Dp's are not expensive. I have the whole AA setup yes clean no rasp very bassy but not loud. You need DP's with a AA rear no doubt!

Catless dp are not an option. Have a vert and can't stand the smell.

So it would be hfc which are dramatically more expensive

Is the aa full system louder than stock? I have a zcp

I have Dinan and my buddy has AA rear section (no mid sections). The AA has more bass but Dinan is louder.
It's difficult to explain every nuance of a sound but to sum it up:
Dinan has loud mid & lows (cuts out a bit of rasp), visceral, and raw but not obnoxious like straight pipes.
AA is smooth and refined like a 911 Turbo but louder.
Both my friend and I have the valves open 100% of the time.
Difficult to decide which I would want with a vert because I wouldn't like the exhaust to overpower the sound of the engine. In a coupe the Dinan is a perfect balance. With the vert, if it is too loud then let the car control the valves.
BTW my Dinan exhaust sets off my other friend's Maserati whenever he parks next to me.

AA exhaust will get you the cleanest sound, it is not an aggressive setup.

If you are looking for an aggressive setup, get REMUS axle back

+1, I have full AA with catless DP.

I was expecting sound level not near, but rather close to my e92 M3 with Eisenmann Race/DPs.......it's not even close.

The sound is bassy, louder than stock, but very refined. I actually like it very much!!! Though sometimes when I hear REALLY loud F80/82 M3s it makes me a bit jealous, I'm always happy to have the best of both worlds!

Yes he did but here's the thing I'm trying to help him out Mike! I don't want him to make the same mistake as me thinking this is the perfect exhaust. On that note we know your a AA vendor so of course it's louder than stock same thing you told me. Truth is without DP's it's too quiet so good luck in your decision.

I never said its loud but it is louder than stock.

We offer Active Autowerke, AFE, Agency Power, Akrapovic, Ark, AWE Tuning, RPI, Borla Burger Tuning, BMW Performance, Fabspeed, Frequency Intelligent, Gintani, GThaus Meisterschaft, Magnaflow and REMUS M3/M4 exhausts.

You make it sound as if we only sell AA and i can only make a profit if i sell him this system, which is obviously not true.

I'll say it again, AA offers the cleanest rasp free sound. If customer is looking for an aggressive setup they should not get the AA axle back.

I was talking about the part where you mentioned that im talking about AA because we sell it. Truth is im a big fan of this system because i hate the M3/M4 rasp. It has nothing to do with being a vendor.

I dont want to turn this into an argument, i agree with you that it is not an aggressive setup.

If you want more volume add a dinan or Remus rear section. If you want a lot of sound, add downpipes. Adding the AA rear section to your existing AA midpipe will be close to the level of stock with open valves in terms of audible level.

Here are clips of each:

OP, I hear you with the smell issue. AA catless DP's will give you a lot of that. But IMO, it is worth it for the sound. I've heard most all systems out there. The AA is by far the cleanest and also PLENTY loud. I would not want louder - it wears on you after a while...

Not if you have auto start/stop (engine) enabled... it minimizes it rather well, as had been mentioned before in this thread, but that post mysteriously disappeared.

Or.. You could wait for our New Exhaust to be released. 2 words "Single" and "Flap".

However if you are looking for the smoothest tone out there do not hesitate to snatch up our signature Mid pipe and Rear.
