I'm being told that though some allocations/productions have been released, they haven't released dates (or appointments if you prefer) for the actual delivery of the cars just yet... |

I suppose that the Ordering guide once released will be identical to what is shown in the dealer ordering system. I would suggest to sit with your dealer and build your car if you are looking to get a very particular ED date. Nothing moves without a production number. BMWNA sent an email today confirming that the week in September that I provided as my desired delivery window is assured. Now I have to provide the 3 particular days within that week. This was done this way as my Individual content required 12 weeks of lead time plus a couple of weeks at Garching. So I told them the week for delivery that I wanted and they scheduled production and lead time backwards to make it happen. Thus the requirement of having a production number by no later than mid May to make it happen. Again, no production number, nothing moves. |

My local dealer here in Alexandria called to inform me that they now have allocation for MY18 F80. Going in tomorrow to place my order. Will see what info is known at that time and pass it along here. As of last week they had no pricing info and pretty much only knew that the lighting package was now standard. At least that's how they put it.

I'm also considering an M3 for my fiance next year - happened to be at the BMW dealership the other day for service and talked to a salesmen who after looking it up said a refresh was coming in 2019. I'll most likely wait for the new body now.. |

The G chassis M3/M4 won't be around for at least 2-3 more year at least. G chassis 3er refresh is probably 2019. Another year or two will be the Ms. The M3 hold their values a bit better because they aren't produced nearly as much.

As stated by Arcades, and also stated in multiple threads, the next-gen M3 won't come for at least 1-3 years after the G chassis 3 Series and 4 Series are introduced. If you are considering an M3 for your fiance next year, it will be a 2018 F80 M3. There will be no new "refresh" coming for the M3 in 2019. Any sales person who told you otherwise has no idea what he is talking about. And we're planning a Euro Delivery in May, 2018. Not planning on delaying that.

Placed my order this AM. The wait now begins for a production number. Pricing isn't available yet either. I imagine that won't become available for several more weeks.
I went with Sakhir Orange II w/the full black leather and carbon fiber trim interior. I also went with the DCT. I love MT, but w/DC traffic...I've had enough of that. The DCT is pretty damn good anyway. Added Packages: 1. Competition Package (I went with the 19 Inch forged black double spoke wheels instead of the 20 inch comp package wheels...just wasn't a fan of how they looked in person. I will say the 2018 will offer the 20 inch comp package wheels in black as well, I just wasn't much of a fan, but that's a change from MY17). 2. Driving Assistance Package (looks like there's no more driver assistance "plus" package and no more lighting package. A lot of what was in the lighting package and the driver assistance "plus" package is spread out between this package and the Executive Package). 3. Executive Package (has the adaptive LED lights, auto high beams, side and top view cameras, etc). I also got the CF front splitter and rear diffuser, CF spoiler, the MPE, CF mirror caps (comp package already adds the black/shadow line kidney grille) and the M Performance electronic steering wheel (because, why not?). It'll be a pretty fun car, especially on track days. One slightly surprising thing...no option to add the carbon ceramic brakes. I am/was on the fence about the CCB. CCB are great for tracking, but can be a pain in the ass on cold days. They're also expensive, but I don't really care about that...they don't wear, don't leave dust, don't fade when hot, look great, and perform well once warmed up. The main complaints from drivers other than price are that you lose pedal feel at low temps/when brakes are cool, and you get brake noise (squeaking) at low temps/brakes are cool. I don't really mind those things...but then again, the regular M breaks are fine...so yeah, on the fence. If they add the option later on when I get my production number and have a chance to tweak the order, maybe I'll revisit, but it doesn't seem like its an option right now. JSM |

The $1500 increase from July 1st only applied to base MSRP.
Thus, MY2018 M3 confirmed orders with production number issued already and delivery by Sept 30th will use the $64,000 MSRP of the 2017 M3; MY2018 M3 option/packages prices stay. |

Should I assume my dealer will know this, or should I press the issue (still waiting to get another production number as my first was one of the erroneously released few). |

btw, is it something that automatically changes to 64,000 if it qualifies or do we have to go through the dealers to change it? apparently, MY SA does not know anything about it and only documents available to him is 2018 ordering guide with base price of 65,500. if it changes, they will adjust the price so fingers crossed.

So if I place an order today and get a production number for July or August I should be price protected to get the base at $64000?
