DCT Cost
Does anyone have a cost breakdown for a new DCT?
What's the cost of the unit itself? What else is required/m with cost? What's the labor hours/cost? |

ETK shows the price anywhere from 10k-13k and it had the breakdown of each part. Best call your dealer and inquire about labour and unit cost.. labour probably north of 6-8hrs including programming (guesstimate)

Thanks. We were having a friendly argument over it at a cookout yesterday. I was saying roughly 10k, while an M5 owner was saying 6k.

Then you won the bet I dont know how close are the ETK prices to the dealer prices. The 10K was listed for an exchange DCT, i guess maybe if they re-use the old one ? (do you drive a plane ?)

I wonder why the M5 guy thought it would only be 5k. That's what an axle back MPerformance exhaust runs. Surely they would think a DCT transmission would be more than that.
Also, I would never argue with a guy that shoots coke bottle sized rounds with depleted uranium tips for a living. |

There is a reason why only one person responded to your "question".

I was hoping that you were asking because you were going to put the F8X DCT into an E46 body with a V10 from M5. Or something like that. For the record, I would have guessed even higher than you - 15k would have been my number.
