Bmw is most likely using this to release a aero line, a new model, or its even an old test car we are just seeing for the first time....

We can get into semantics if you want, but this CAR is not a prototype. Maybe the aero pieces themselves are prototypes, I'd go along with that, but there will not be another customer-facing version of the M4 or M3 for that matter.
