A fair share of customers will buy this car for its performance and luxury and/or status without wanting to make an aggressive/fun/look-at-me statement. This dark blue combined with clear interior and silver rims will suit them perfectly and could hardly get more tasteful as a luxury-oriented combo, not to mention that an M4 will stand out anyway with its aero kit, 19ers and quad exhaust.

That would be the color I'd order for an M3 but not for 5k extra. Come on BMW, give us some better color options on the M cars.

Does anyone have pictures of the M3 in tanzanite blue? I just talked to my local dealer and he expects the paint to go for about 2k.

I was also looking at Imperial Blue and was told by a upper level BMW executive that since the color is already in their "palette", it would probably be $2K-$3K to get it done.

YMMV, but he said that applies to any color that is in BMW's "palette." So bring on the Imola and Carbon Black.

Finally! A color on this car that doesn't leave me bored or nauseous.

Definitely the color I'm getting, although I'll skip on the cocaine white interior.

YMB looks worse in person than in photos. Occasionally photos have messed up contrast/exposure settings that make it look not like a box of diapers.

Tanzanite blue is another color that has so much depth that it is near impossible to capture in photos. Great color. Looks great on the F10 M5

That's actually a very nice color! Went to see the new M4 in AY at my local dealer (GVA) and it actually looks better in person but still not bold enough to order. This Tanzanite Blue might just be the right color.

To your eyes, Austin yellow is LESS bold than this dark metallic blue? You and I see boldness much differently. To me, Tanzanite blue is as low-key as a color can be. Not that I don't like the color, I very much do, but bold isn't a word I would use to describe it.

as a current owner, i wholeheartedly concur.

i've owned bimmers in mystic, montego and now interlagos blue, which has always been the one for me.

it can go from a bright blue in full sunlight to a deep blue, with purple hues, at dusk. it's definitely one of the most complex colors in BMW's repertoire. it's also one closely associated with their ///M brand so i hope it becomes available to M3s/M4s once again later in their production cycle.

People have been throwing around the 5k number for Individual paint, but at 2-3k I think I'd be willing to go for it. Like jc05e46m3 above me, I'd absolutely go for Santorini as long as it's on their palette.
