Also sounds like a decent deal. I got a 16 M3, 6MT, EDC, Ext Leather, LED, Heated Seats, HK stereo w/16k miles last fall for $60k ($72 ish sticker). They may have some room to budge. |

It's an OK deal. I got my 77k MSRP car with ZCP for 69k new after all the incentives. So this would be like $1/mile which is about right.

If it's another used car dealer who couldn't move it bringing it back to auction....worry. I've seen bad cars get passed around like a joint at Woodstock at some of these auctions. |

yea good incentives that month and decent discount etc, was on a lot they traded for it.
But the sale price is the sale price and used cars tend to start at the lowest possible new sale price and depreciate from there. They don't tend to depreciate from what YOU paid, necessarily. |

FWIW,
The BMW appraisal on my 2015 M4 with 23k miles (original MSRP of $77K) came in today at just under $51k (appraiser said car was perfect, no extra wear and tear). I can basically walk away from my lease (11 months left) and forfeit my security deposit. Since the net cost is about $340/month, don't think I'll be doing that and will enjoy having 2 cars for the next year. Funny thing is my residual is $49K, but I'm sure if I wanted to buy this car next year and offered BMW FS $43K they would laugh ... oh well. |

Just sold my 2017 M3 to Carmax. Only option was black 437 wheels and apple car play. 6K miles. They gave me 60K for it

I thought of selling it privately. I have a full front end paint protection and CarMax complemented on how clean the vehicle is. It should be it spends most of its time in the garage since I have a work vehicle and it has never been in the rain. If I do sell it I have a 7 year / 70k mileage warranty that I may include with the sale of the vehicle. I was thinking 55k - 56k for the price.

Would never sell to a Carmax unless I was specifically buying a car from them let alone buy my car from Vegas. We get way better deals from Cali dealerships.
Was curious though so I went in winter last year at a Carmax in Vegas. 2016 model at 6k miles. 80k msrp. Got quoted 54k. Lol. And they said, and I quote, "One of the best condition, and lowest miles we've ever appraised." I'd like to pride myself in keeping my car in the the best condition but no way I'd sell for that price though. |

How much do you think would be my cars trade in value now . Its a 16 M3 manual with 12K miles and in excellent shape , only blemish is that I was rear ended 6 months back, how much would the accident drop the value , 5K?

I will tell you one thing, DCT definitely commands a higher price than 6MT. When I was shopping the DCT cars were always the first to sell as well. |

First to sell? Because there is a much larger market for them?

probably. In my one month of research, I took inventory of all available cars around me in a 500-mile radius. The 6MT cars tended to sit much longer than the DCT cars. I'm pretty sure even new, most order with DCT.

So wouldn't a lower 6MT take rate increase demand and therefore price?

Heck, just look at our FS forums here. The DCT cars are moving, and the 6MT cars are not getting any interest. |

^not surprising. Most people dont know how to drive a manual and others just dont want to sadly. This is why fewer new cars are coming with manual transmissions.
