Was this not an option in the past? Please explain.

Curious about retrofitting the OEM camera on a 2017 car since I specifically did not spec Exec Package with the ugly PDC sensors and headlight washer cutouts.

From what I've read there was a problem with their OEM kit on 2016+ cars. They have been working on a solution and he is just updating us.

few questions -

do you lose audio when going into reverse?

with your front camera product, do you lose audio when switching to activate front camera?

are the rear cameras still dark like oem ones?

I contacted BimmerTech asking for rear view integration with front camera for my 2017 6MT.

This is the info I received back:

"OEM integration is the only rear view camera kit available for your car right now and it does not support front camera.

Front camera is only available with MMI kit and there's no ETA on when we will have a MMi kit for 2017 models. It might be months."

So it looks like they do have OEM integration working on 2016+ but it does not support a front camera.

We've installed the Crux systems on the E9X platforms, build quality is very nice and they are local!

I wonder if BimmerTech could work on having a non-integrated switch (meaning, an external switch, non OEM button) to activate a front camera to work with their OEM integration kit. That's me just assuming they cannot get OEM buttons on 16+ to activate the front camera.

I wouldn't want to damage my $2k front lip, or even a $500 lip.

When I put my 16 VIN in the only camera it lists for me is thr MMI? I thought it would be OEM only.
