BMW online Widgets not working

So my Idrive I have had setup with split screen since last year. On left is the main content and on right I always have time and weather. It went blank on the right side 2 weeks ago and hasn't come back. I can go to BMW online in idrive and display weather and browse news etc, but none of the widgets display anymore in split screen. If I change to other choices besides widgets then they appear on right so it's not idrive. Seems to be BMW, but not sure. Anyone else lose their widgets? Anyway to do a hard restart of idrive?

If someone has a 2016 M, can you try the split screen and select one of the BMW online widgets and let me know if they display?

I noticed the same thing with mine the other day. Still will not show up in the split screen view. Sucks because I occasionally use the app to check the weather.

I don't have a M but a 2016 m235i and the widgets are broken as well. I hope they resolve this soon. I really like the weather option!

Mine also went out though for one day, that the third time in two years, and I've noticed that after it comes back that I get over the air updates for some apps. Not sure if it's coincidence or related.

I have a 2016 435i M Sport with the tech package and mine stopped working about 2 weeks ago as well. I sent BMW a message but not have heard back. Going into the dealer next week so I will check if it isn't resolved by then.

After going to BMW online, press the option button, then select "delete data". After this go back to bmw online and it should start working. Worked for me.

This was a little vague, so here's what I did:

I started with Split Screen and BMW Online widgets selected. I had a blank screen on the right side.

This didn't appear to work, so I turned off split screen, then went in and turned it on again. Still didn't work. I had BMW Online widgets selected up until now, so I selected something else, Arrow display, then went back and selected BMW Online widgets. This caused it to update the app and I got the Widget setting menu. I selected Digital clock with weather. Now it worked.

The key seemed to select another option for your split screen display after deleting local data, then go back and select BMW Online widgets. This caused the app to update and got it working again. I tried the other options, Clock, Flickr, and Weather, and they all worked.

Thanks everyone for the info. I tried all the steps and it did not work at first. I just kept playing with the Delete local data and the Update choices in the connected drive menu , under options and under BMW online options and the widgets came back.

Guys... BMW updates to their ConnectedDrive servers are buggy. The iDrive only shows what the servers are sending. That explains why sometimes the widget shows and then the next hour/day shows nothing again and again.

Weather app has not worked in my car since taking delivery in July.

Never had a problem in my 5er.

I noticed mine said the same today. Last time I dove the car was on Monday and it worked.

I have had the same intermittent "No GPS" error with my Weather app as well for the last week or so, with all other online services working fine. I decided to give the BMW Genius a chance, calling from the car. He told me that the provider of the Weather app service is having some network issues - which would explain the intermittent behavior.

Standby to standby I guess....
