Who is luckier, an old guy driving a new M car with cheaper insurance or the guy who gets to own a brand new M car at the age of 25? I bet a lot of people would gladly pay $3,700 a year to be 25 again.

Glass is always half full, unless it is a wine glass.

30, a few tickets, East of 95 in South Florida (those of us in SFL know what weight that carries...) for my E46 M3 and the F80, it cost me $1236/6 months with a $500/$500 deduct.

Before the F80 we had the E46 and her Scion TC, it was costing us $1188/month with $500/$500

Insurance for m4

I was just told that my Insurance for the m4 will increase by $2400 for the year....that is crazy...that is 2400 more than my Audi s5 that I just turned in...anyone else getting similar rates? Not sure I can afford such an up charge...

My M3 went up about $400 per year, after switching from a 2012 Ford Focus, seemed fair to me.

Look for a new carrier. I use USAA and my insurance cost increased $600 for the year. The increase is primarily for the "new car status". $2400 is exorbitant...unless you have a suspect history with driving, i.e. multiple speeding tickets, at fault accidents with citations, DUI.

That is odd...I would shop for comparable coverage but don't skimp on the quality of coverage.
Let Allstate know the other rates...they will probably match it.

I switched from Liberty Mutual to Allstate in September and my premium decreased by $1500.

I switched to Liberty Mutual from GEICO last month... insurance went down $1000 per year. My home insurance also went down $1000. Call them!

Liberty Mutual is a BMW partner so you get a rate discount and they use OEM parts for repairs.

No don't cancel order...that would be a mistake! Do everything humanly possible to get your rear end in this car, short of selling family members and body parts.

I disagree...

To get into this car, I would definitely sell body parts... and probably some family members as well.

Geico quoted an increase of $464.10 for the year (coming from a 2013 335i). Will check liberty mutual. I like the OEM parts thing.

I pay $88 a month for my e92 and was just told yesterday swapping to my f82 and adding gap since im financing will take me up to $103 a month. BMWFS wants over $700 for gap. Screw that. I have nationwide and im 35 with 0 points.

Like some of the other posters, I recently shopped carriers and ended up going with Travelers after having been with State Farm for nearly 20 years. My premium for home and auto dropped by about $1800/year. It's typically a good idea to price shop if you've been with a carrier for a few years.

As for the M3, the price they quoted me was just under $1100/year, which is slightly less than the 328i and Z4 that it will be replacing.

I have the M4 listed as a secondary car (less than 8K miles per year) and Ill pay roughly $900 per year. That's with a 1K deductible.

My insurance premium is $2800.. FOR 3(!) cars, which include a Rover. Something is seriously wrong with the quote you got, if you have a perfect driving record.

my wife is my insurance agent and my premium went up about $600. I went from a 2010 335i to the M3 so i knew it would be more and this seems to be in line.

My Geico insurance went up $500 yearly, moving from a 2008 m3 to a new M4. I also upped some coverages but if you already have full tort and comprehensive, it shouldn't go up a ton.
