New owner currently in lust
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com New owner here, impulse bought a 2018 M4 convertible in mineral white over sakhir and have to say so far I love it! Great car that feels special to drive and I know there isnt much convertible love on the forums but top down cruising is awesome so far. Moving to this car from a history of benzes and a 911 and I have to say this car compares very favorably! No idea why so much m4 hate pervades online publications and communities. PS: Why the bitching about the sound? Sounds good to me! Although I may disconnect valves to keep them open. |

Congrats, it definitely sounds better with the top down AND with the top down, you get slightly better traction since the weight of the roof shifts towards the back giving the tires more grip
I have a convertible M4 like you as well, I'd never imagine this drive without the convertible, its a hard top so gives you the rigidity of the coupe and is quiet in the cabin without the extra maintenance hassle of a soft top convertible. Had a soft top Mustang convertible and within 1 month that thing looked like it was 5 years old and was super hard to keep clean with all the dust and little dirt particles sticking to the cloth.

Thanks everyone! What a great car so far. Really looking forward to driving it every morning. Some of the downshifts are sluggish even in sport plus but I understand some of this is due to not being out of break in period yet.
Thank you! Just clicked on your shop link. We have to talk once break in is over about a tune and a downpipe! |

More pics please + can you compare 19" and 20" wheesl?
Looks like a beautiful car/color combination. More photos please.
It looks like you have the 19" wheels. Did you drive one with the 20" 666M wheels for comparison? If so, do you notice any difference in steering feel right around center and how crisply it turns in? I had an early 2015 (F80) on the 19" wheels and noticed a big difference (the 2015 on the 19" wheels was much less sharp). I'm hoping most of the difference is in the suspension (rollbars, springs, etc) and tune, and not wheels? I like the looks of the 19s! Best regards, |

Thank you! I will post more pics soon. Most of my pics are at the gas station (which I have already been to four times!! haha) and from when I picked her up. I did indeed drive a convertible and a coupe with the comp pack and 20's. For me in NYC the ride felt harsher and I didn't want to deal with that size with our massive potholes since I will daily this car. If I get sick of the 19's I can always go aftermarket, as I probably will anyways since I get sick of looking at stock cars pretty quickly. Otherwise, as far as stability and handling went it felt similar but I didn't beat the hell out of it or corner like the stig so YMMV. Bought the car from BMW of Freeport and had an amazing experience versus BMW of Bayside which treated me like I was a tire kicker and didn't give me the time of day lol. |
