Extreme heat coming right below climate control

Has anyone else noticed a significant amount of heat dissipating right below the automatic climate control when they place their hand over that area. I feel heat coming out of this area like a furnace when i place my hand near it after a short drive. Even with all the windows down and the AC off i can still feel the heat in this area which is plastic. Is this normal for an M car i have not had this issue with my other Bmw vehicles.

i have the exact same issue. Not sure why. Not always there though.

I haven't noticed anything like that. I'll keep an eye on it though.
