Bimmerpost Group M3/M4 Euro Delivery / M-Tour Pictures
Here are some of the pictures I took during the Bimmerpost M3/M4 Group European Delivery trip. This was an amazing, epic trip. What started out as a trip to save some money on my new car turned into a trip of a lifetime. A big shout-out to Suave, Karussel and SoccerDad, among others, who helped make this trip a reality.
My itinerary was as follows: Bimmerpost Group events: 6/20: Arrived in Munich around 9:00a. Met up with Suave at the airport, rented car and drove to Nürburg for the 24 Hour Nürburgring Race and BMW M Festival. Picked up JL M3 and ELPhilly along the way. 6/21: 24 Hour Nürburgring Race and BMW M Festival 6/22: Return to Munich after end of Race 6/23: DELIVERY DAY! (Part of the Bimerpost ED Group) 6/24: Track day at Spa Francorchamps and Taxi laps with Sabine Schmitz 6/25: Tour of the Nürburg area with RSRNürburg and then a few laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Dinner with Sabine Schmitz at Longhorn Saloon 6/26: Drove from Nürburg to Stelvio with a stop at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart for a private tour. Also stopped at Neuschwanstein Castle for obligatory photo 6/27: Drove the Stelvio Pass early in the morning (no traffic!!!) Individual Itinerary after Bimmerpost events ended on 6/27: 6/27: Headed to Berchtesgaden in the afternoon. 6/28: Morning and early afternoon in Berchtesgaden, then headed to Hallstatt in the afternoon. 6/29: Morning and early afternoon in Hallstatt, then headed to Zell am See in the afternoon. 6/30: Zell am See - Plan was to drive to Grossglocker High Alpine Road, but the weather was terrible (first day of bad weather during my trip so I really can't complain). Drove up to Salzburg to check out Red Bull Hanger 7. 7/1: Dropped off car at Munich Airport at 9a. Had one last German beer and then boarded my flight to the US at 12:15p. I will be uploading quite a few photos, so I will divide the uploads across a few posts – one for each day/event. This first post covers pictures from the 24 Hours Nürburgring race / BMW M Festival Weekend (June 20th - 22nd), just prior to Delivery day on June 23rd. I got some shots of Karussel driving in the race (car #182). The M Festival VIP package included complementary food and drink, pit access and helicopter rides (we were up in the helicopter for the start of the race). In addition we were treated to the BMW Driving Experience, which included drifting lessons in the M4.

Drive to Stelvio - June 26th
Early morning departure from Castle Kerpen for our drive to Trafoi (at the base of the Stelvio Pass in Italy). Along the way we stopped at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart for a private tour and lunch. I was also the only member of the group to stop by Neuschwanstein Castle on June 26th for a few pictures:

Stelvio Pass - June 27th
We got off to an early start (7am) driving up the eastern side of the Stelvio Pass. We were blessed with no traffic on our climb up the east side (except for one GTR near the start). After spending some time at the summit, most of the group headed back down the eastern side of the pass to our hotel in Trafoi. I decided to drive down the western side of the pass heading towards Bormio and then turned around and headed back up the western side and then down the eastern side to Trafoi. Traffic was fairly light on the western side, but was starting to pick up a bit as I descended the eastern side and got got closer to Trafoi.

Nice thread. Jealous of you all. I am surprised that there are no SS shots.
BTW the BSM on SS looks great. Nice choice, with all the heat on this site about not choosing the CF roof, I have to admit it works on that combo well. |
