Year old F80 seems faster over time
I have a 17' F80
18k miles For the past week my car seems to have alot more torque when I speed up. When I accelerate the car pulls me back, car feels like a monster compared to before. Idk if anyone has experienced this. |

I think you are just laying into it more, because you feel more confident with the machine. Regardless of what may be happening, enjoy the ride.

And the answer is...turbos are definitely impacted by weather conditions, heat and humidity. Also bad gas and heat soak too. Altitude as well but I’m guessing your not doing extreme mountain runs.

Is that CP or non-CP, i have always experienced that in my prior non-CP car and miss that power thrust in my 18 F80 CP

congrats OP, that's a great feeling.
It's always the opposite for me... I get used to the HP level of a new car quickly, and 3rd gear pulls that used to be super exciting become.. meeeh. Then I start to think about getting car with +5 to +10mph trap speed increase.... as others have said, good for you that you haven't fallen into the trap. ENJOY |

Engines tend to loosen up over the miles. Go read C&D long term tests - the car is almost always faster at 40,000 miles than it was new.

Although these latest turbo engines self correct for temp and altitude, hence people have been getting big power outputs on corrected dynos as they are correcting a self correcting engine.

Exactly. My recently returned m4 had 53k miles on it and the best miles were after it passed 30k.

This gets my vote. I've always noticed this about my cars. I've always figured it had more to do with comfort driving the car, mood, and other psychological variables at the time. If it's a dct, could adjustments of the tranny to driving style impact your experience as well?

Do you use different tires for the winter vs the summer? If you live somewhere with cold winters I suspect the summer months are a nice performance boost.
