Just test drove M car for first time at UDE

A friend of mine whose client is BMW corporate invited me to the Ultimate Driving Experience at Cow Palace yesterday in SF. I have been lurking these forums for a while and have been hellbent on picking up my first M car, either the E92 M3 or F82 M4. I have NEVER driven either of these cars. Actually, I have never driven anything like these cars. I am a truck guy, ride dirt bikes etc so a car never made sense, but I have loved M's since high school (I'm 31).

Getting to the event, I was literally only expecting to be able to test drive the new 5er, an i3 and I think the 750M as detailed on their website. Well as soon as we arrived, they had a like 3-4 M4/M3's all lined up and I got super excited.

They were freaking beautiful. Comp pack wheel which look amazing in person, M performance parts, those new '18 headlights gad daamn! I put my name down for the M4. This is so sad but just getting into it and sitting there, I could not help a huge smile on my face. Then I drove it. Holy Shit balls! Unlike anything I have ever been in or felt while driving. I felt like a complete boss man hauling that thing. It was the best 15 minutes of my driving life lol (I did it twice so 25-30?)! All this reading of technical aspects, aesthetics of these cars on the forum...NOTHING compares to just getting in one and driving it. It was a weird sensation. It absolutely solidified the fact that I want to pick one up sooner rather than later. I think what made the test drive fun was that it had a pre-loaded navigated route that took you up in the hills for 10-15 minutes before dumping you back in town.

Anyway I guess the point of my post is....just drive it and decide for yourself if you are thinking about one!

Yep, they are fun. Doing the one day M School tomorrow to really get a chance to wring some of them out in a safe environment. Can't wait.

Dude, you weren't going fast enough if it took you that long to make that loop.

You were pro on noob setting too, traction control holds back a good amount but it also helps noobs from wrecking , glad you enjoyed it, it bought back memories for me also, you should know there's so much more to that car, I'm sure just about all members can contest to that.
