M4 CS in Limerock Grey or San Marino Blue?

Has anyone seen both Limerock Grey and San Marino Blue on a BMW M4CS? I was just confirmed production and I am confused which color to pick. I have seen all the photographs but I would like input from someone who has seen them and compared them both in person. Thanks

I suspect there are very few if any who've ever seen these two colors side by side.

At any rate, I'd probably go with San Marino because its a great color, and at $100k, the CS is already going to be expensive enough without adding another $5k for the Individual color. Sure, that's a small percentage of the overall price, but if I am paying the Individual price, I'd want to pick from the whole palette. Unfortunately, it seems that will not be possible with the CS.

Reminds me a lot of the grey that you see on super cheap Dodge and Audi vehicles and those are all over the place where I live

The "Nardo" or "Limerock" style grey has been played out for a good year or two now

Do I love the color? Yes very much so but I wouldn't say it's unique per se

IMO both colors have been played out for a good 3-4 years now. Blue color reminds me a lot of Deep Impact Blue that Ford used since 2013 I believe

Price is not at issue fortunately. Well if anyone has seen limerock in person that input would be great. I can imagine San Marino but not too clear about limerock and how it looks in person.

If price truly isn't an issue, I'd be on the phone with BMW corporate to find out what it would take to do a custom Individual order for this car. Why limit yourself to one gray color? The whole point of BMW Individual is to give you what you want. For the right price they may be able to paint the car any color you can imagine, like they can for just about any other BMW.

I actually asked BMW but they confirmed that limerock was the only individual color available. I actually like the color in the pics, but have not seen it in person; thus the reason for the questions.

If someone has other information regarding individual colors for the CS, please let me know.

Frozen Dark Blue is available too, but I understand what you are saying - the standard Individual ordering options aren't available.

Anyway, good luck with the order process. Either color is going to look great.

You're right, I forgot that one was available too. Thanks

Saying Nardo/Limerock is played out is funny because it is unlikely you will ever see more than a couple CS packages in the flesh unless you're attending shows, etc. That alone makes any color a safe choice, let alone one that cannot be had via the standard trim.

That being said I'd likely go with San Marino simply because it's one of the richest, deepest, most beautiful blues BMW has ever made. But either way you can't go wrong!

I have seen them side by side a few times and they both look great. Lime rock is much more metallic in real life than pictures however they are both NCO in Australia.

Personally I went for SMB but can't really go wrong with either, just too many brands going grey now plus I like the contrast of the carbon on blue.

I saw a Lime Rock grey M3 CS in person at the Detroit auto show and really liked it. The dark blues are usually my favorite color on cars but the lime rock grey really looks good on the CS. It shows off the lines well and on one had makes the car a bit of a sleeper as it is (in my opinion) less flashy than San Marino, but at the same time very unique. Not sure how to explain it, but definitely looks better in person than Nardo grey.

I would go for Lime Rock Grey, but I'm partial to grey. So the blue would have to look significantly better for me to opt for it.

I've seen San Marino on so many m5 I'd take limerock grey.

Also, I thought I saw "speed yellow" in some promo vids for m4 cs. That would be an interesting color and more "rare"

That was an Pennzoil promo video, not a BMW one. Hence, the colour was "Pennzoil Yellow" and likely was a wrap.

For now, the CS are only available in 5 colours: AW, BSM, SMB and the semi-individual LRG and FDB.

Thanks! That's exactly what I like, it's more subdued than the SMB and still looks unique and special. Did you find it still looks sporty or a bit too subdued? Does it look metallic only up close or also from far away?

You bought a M4CS? I was starting to wonder if anyone has bought one because they are in the 3 BMW dealers I go past for the last month. Also, I thought LRG is a cost option at $4400?

To the OP, my dealer has both the LRG and SMB M4CS sitting in the showroom. The SMB pops, while the LRG looks dull. In fact, I would take the BSM one I’ve seen at another dealership. If you are ever in Melbourne, go see Mo at BMW Melbourne. He has them all.

Yes I bought one and I had to wait until July production for Latin America. There were only 5 quotas this year for Latin America (excluding Brazil and Mexico) and was very difficult to get one but it was finally confirmed. Maybe they are selling them at a much higher price in Australia.

Thanks for the comment regarding the colors.

To be honest I don't remember how metallic it was, just how surprised how good it looked (definitely had some metallic). This was on an M3 and it looked sporty but not sure if that would translate the same to the M4. Will try and load the pics I took below.

I've personally seen both. I like LRG a lot since it's something new. If you dont mind paying extra for the "special order" paint then I would definitely recommend LRG.

Here is a link that may help...
