Hey guys, my spec'd car M3 came to $75,400. I am planning to do lease 36/12000. Do you know if there is chance to knock down few % off MSRP? And also what kind of monthly should I expect based on this MSRP? Thanks!

I suggest downloading the Leasematic app. All the things you don't understand about it will tell you what you need to learn before you negotiate a lease with BMWFS.

I don't mean that as combative - the answer to your question is a math equation, and if you are unable to solve it yourself, you may not be adequately protected against dealer shenanigans.

Best luck.

My car is spec'd/priced similarly to yours (..about $1500 higher). Let's assume that you have top tier credit as I do (..and you got $1k off of MSRP, had no trade in/negative equity to account for, and used BMWFS) in this example. Your payment will be about $841 per month using BMW Select with a 28k-ish balloon or $900 plus tax on a 3 year lease with 12k miles. Both estimations assume that you put $5k down. These are just loose numbers based on my deal (..$5k down.....$958 plus tax = $1034 for 3yrs/12k miles for a lease OR $891 per month with a 28k balloon for BMW Select; I got a couple thousand off of MSRP). There's about a $40-50 difference per month between an equally optioned M3 and M4. Change any of the factors such as the down payment amount, etc., and the numbers will look different. I just wanted to give you an idea what I'll be paying.

Here's a steal of a lease for $831.30/month, but I'm rying to keep her. Anyone interested if I'm forced to sell?

That dealer must have smoked crack before he posted that. And not just a little either. No way in hell he's going to get that when another dealer down the street will sell it at sticker.

Welcome to Miami
They also have an M3 on the showroom floor with the same mark-up
Too many ballers around to completely rule that out, but I hope you're right

I really hope you are not forced to sell. Nobody is going to come up with your MSDs - however it appears your selling price is really good - is that the pay off from BMW?

Thank you, I actually got an offer for my MSDs plus some cash, and a possible offer for a cash purchase, so hopefully this car is hot enough that I can recover some of my money.

The sale price I put on Autotrader is a little higher than my payoff.

I was fortunate to get the car at a good price, and happy to pass as much of that on to anyone else here if interested.

Every lease I've seen on this car is closer to 1000 or 1100 or more. Makes 831 seem like a deal, even with the MSDs, which as we know are fully refundable at lease end.

I saw your thread IS350. It sucks that you're in this position. I was in a similar position right after purchasing my '08 E90 ///M3 sedan, and I placed it for sale on the forum. Luckily everything worked out and I kept her.

Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad it all worked out for you! Did you get many offers here? I've been getting a few.

Back on topic, the Lease Money Factor changed this month, down slightly to .00130 from .00133. Residuals remain unchanged.

I had a few interested parties, but no real bites. Good luck with your sale man. It'll all work out.

Just wanted to confirm - the MF for ED for the M3 is .00163? Let's just say I had a dealer quote me .0020 and said it was the markup for ED.

Thanks a bunch!

BTW, just to reiterate the MF is .00130 for July. Any dealer charging anymore is inflating the rate. Which unfortunately some are doing, based on demand. But not ALL.

99% of dealers will assume we don't know what the MF buy rate is, assume we don't know what the current residual is, and many will hope we don't know what the invoice cost is. To say nothing of documentation fees and such, which are a black hole of profit potential for dealers.

Leasing from BMW can be an extremely economical way to drive one - but if you don't know just as much about it as the finance guy, it's easy to get taken. Just don't expect to ratchet every single one of those variables down to nothing; dealers do need to make money on a deal somewhere.

Just ask - plenty of people here have connections.

I think the only way they can trick you (aka make money without you blatantly knowing it) is to kick up the MF. They are allowed to do that to a certain percentage. They can not screw with the residuals and the invoice and eventual residual value are clear as day on the contract (you just have to question it).

RidewithG.com used to have all the rates - but the guy sharing them with ridewithg had to stop (and requested that all past rates get pulled off too). Too bad because that was a nice site.

On another topic...remember the dealers also have holdback on the cars from BMW -to the tune of another 3-4%. So that car we just screwed them out of for invoice...well they still made money - as they should since those people in that dealer don't work for free, that building where your car sits and is maintained did cost money and still costs money!
