^^^That looks great IMO^^^
For anyone worried about the trim scratching from everyday use, either wrap it in clearbra material or wear a protective glove that goes half way up your forearm. Otherwise plan on polishing it on occasion or replacing it when you can't stand the level of wear/scratching anymore. |

Resurrecting this thread ... Trying to decide between AB and CF with black merino. My dealer mentioned the cf is so shiny that it can give off a nasty glare in bright sunlight. Anyone ever experience this?
Just ordered my 2016 M4 in mineral gray. I picked CF but I have a few weeks to change my mind... |

I have the Al blade trim with a full black leather interior. It really looks the part. It adds some much needed contrast to what is already a very dark cabin and it looks upmarket because it is clearly real Aluminium (not the silver painted plastic on the more plebian 3/4 series).
I never liked the CF trim because it is basically just a lot of clear, glossy plastic with some embedded CF. To me, it looks and feels cheap and aftermarket. It would work much, much better if they'd used raw, uncoated CF like McLaren do on their cars. |

I prefer the Al but its still the least bad option around. The CF looks like cheap plastic (because it mostly is) and I've never been a fan of wood trim. Audi does a much better job with the Aluminum trim on their top end models. Ideally, BMW would offer another metallic option, maybe brushed titanium or stainless steel.

I think they both look good. There's not really a bad option, but I didn't prefer either one. My F80 dash trim is being made outta wood (anthracite) and I got the moonroof too.
With the additional weight, my M3 will basically offer the same performance as if I had the CF but I was also towing a Bayliner. Or the same as a vert. (Just kidding verts !!! ;-) |

I'm a Service Consultant for Century West BMW and just took delivery of a special order F82 and YES--it's equipped with genuine carbon fiber trim. BTW, the aluminum is genuine too.
