OP perhaps try an M2? Shorter wheelbase should translate into a more engaging drive
I've driven plenty of 6.2L V8 c63s and F8x M cars, and overall I definitely prefer the M cars as they are much more versatile, and while I do prefer the NA V8 in the Merc (only for the sound, not in output or efficiency), I would trade that engine for the M-DCT transmission in combination with the S55, which really wakes up with minimal mods as well and is a torque monster even in stock form |

I am putting on my flame suit in advance for my response to you! I feel your pain, the current F80/82 suffers from decontenting (cheaper interior + leather), and is a very sterile driving experience IMHO. Cruising on the highway, you might as well be in an Accord or dare I say, a Camry. I really miss the visceral driving experience of my E92, for me, it was a more engaging drive, and the sounds it produced were lovely. MB currently has some of the best interiors, from the perspective of ergonomics, quality of materials, and overall, design. Even the lowest MB models have interiors far surpassing even Audi. We pay a great deal of money for our cars, and I am currently experiencing a lack of value with my ZCP. It's kind of like going to a fancy restaurant, paying $200 for a meal, and wondering what just happened. Personally speaking, the C63 is just too big a vehicle for me, I prefer smaller, unobtrusive cars. I am, at present, toying with the idea of purchasing a used E92, and doing a conversion to SC - this would suit my needs for a small, unobtrusive, high performance vehicle with a great driving experience. I certainly don't think you could go wrong with the C63, it certainly has the looks and the performance, and checks many of the boxes the current F80/82 does not. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, go and test the new Alfa Q.......

Maybe it's the interior that's turning you off.
I've had both a C-class (not AMG) and an S4. And both cars had a nicer interior than the M3. I've grown accustomed to the interior, but for the first few months, I felt the M3 interior was really lacking compared to what I was used to. |

For those of you complaining about the cheap interior of the F8X, did you spec yours with full leather?
The standard interior does feel cheap. But the full leather variant is a different world and class. |

Mine does have full leather, and I really do like it... But I like it because I compare it to the older BMW interiors and it is much much better.
But if I had to compare the design and look of the interior to that of the other cars, it definitely lacks something. I can only assume that BMW designed the interior to be for a purpose. It is designed that way so that you can focus on the road, and driving, and the experience of driving an M car.... But then i sit and think, this M car is very subtle in the way it drives compared to older models. So then what am I supposed to focus on? |
