F80 ZCP bottom seat cushion squeaking
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I recently took my car into the dealer because I was having an issue with my front seat squeaking at the cushion part of the seat (not the seat back, which seems to be the issue I find when searching). When you sit down on it it sounds like an old damn rocking chair... This trip turned into having my entire drive shaft replaced due to a recall, and "backing plates" for the rear breaks being replaced due to a known faulty issue with these where rocks get into them and cause a horrible grinding sound... However, the original reason I took my car, the squeaking (which now seems like a small issue), my service rep told me there was simply nothing they could do. This stellar advice apparently came directly from the shop foremen. So, I'm writing to see if: 1. Anyone else has had this issue and has found a solution? 2. Should accept that answer from the dealer? I just bought this car a few months ago with 20k miles on it and it seems crazy that a car of this caliber would have a squeaking drivers seat after coming from a POS scion tc with 120k miles whose seats never squeaked... |

do you have all the way lowered? I did and my seat rattled, just lifting 1/2" solved the issue

I'd have the dealer fix it if you just bought it from them a few months ago. I had the same issue with my 328i with pleather seats; they said it was normal and I had to push them hard to get it elevated it up several channels for the fix. Record a video in a quiet setting if you can't get your SA to acknowledge the noise at the service center.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. The dealer basically gave me the run around about fixing the issue. I'm going to get under that seat tomorrow and see if I can't figure it out myself.
