I had the same question before I installed the RE-11's and now that I've got 1,500 miles or so on them, I'm not sure I can definitively say. If the additional weight has had a negative impact on acceleration or cornering, it has been offset by gains in traction. The net result seems to be a better track experience and maybe just a bit less "playfulness" on the street. I didn't really see another option.
Thanks this is helpful!

I run 275/35/18 square on 513m wheels. The grip is unbelievable and the wheels put all of the rubber down as well. Running jb4 and e85 on map 7 I don't get any wheelspin in 2nd gear with traction off. Also my car is a zcp package so it puts the power down a little better.

I love my RE71Rs. So much so I lost a rear set in less than 4,000 miles

Price point, at least in Canada, the RE71Rs are unbeatable.
Do you track (road course) or auto-x, or both, with the RE-71R's? Can you give any guidance on optimal hot pressures from your experience?

I'll be running them for the first time on a 2.25 mile road course for two days in a few weeks.

Thanks Schnell!

*edit* - Running 265/25 & 285/35 19" on OEM wheels/suspension.

I primarily auto x my car, with the occasional time attack track rental.

I found that 34-36 hot was optimal for time attack, but I am by no means an expert in the tire pressure

Same tire specs, H&R springs and Ground Control front camber plates set at -2.2

Thanks for the range there. I'll target 35 hot and work from there. No camber plates on the car yet but possibly this summer.

I just got RE-71R 265/285

I have driven less than 50 miles but straight line traction is MUCH improved. No longer need to drive with T/C turned off.
