It is not always about that with BMW M cars. Take the example of 545i (V8) vs M5 (V10) or 645ci (V8) vs M6 (V10). The V10 requires more room then the V8's and runs hotter yet no functional scoops or power dome. I believe that is because they like to go a bit conservative with M5's and M6's. Where as M3 are more down market and attracts younger buyers and thus more aggressive profile.

The rear on the M3 coupe looks like the g35's rear quarter panel.

Very nice rendering though.

On the Sedan.
Ditch the rear spoiler or make it more in profile similar to the M5.
Add the M5 wing mirrors but be creative and add the LED strip in the middle.

The Coupe... Get rid altogether.

well done. I could definitely see this as a possibility. As in they should and probably could make this, but won't.
I read in the first page you don't think its up to their standards... you my opinion you beat them with this one.
Looks amazing and wow would this sell!
One and only thing I would like to see are the exhaust pipes slightly closer to lose the identical m5 look.
wow great job

The Coupe and Cabrio will become more distinctive but you will see a new "Coupe line" example - The BMW Coupe models will all use a distinct bloodline that starts from the 6er.
The seperation between the 3er Sedan and Coupe in the current E92/E93 continues with more individual styling and less 2dr Sedan. Although cancelled out at the last minute, this time It will be called the BMW 4er Coupe.

The Cabrio will retain the outgoing folding Hardtop as the current model is a sales success especially amongst young people in China and other markets.
The US would like a soft-top to make the car less of a Coupe and more of a Cabrio. But BMW are keeping the hardtop as it is instrument to the E93's success.

The 4er Gran Coupe will follow the 6er and be a more exclusive four door 4er Coupe.
Along with the Gran Turismo and Touring model that takes you to six models but if you add M variants of Sedan,Coupe,Cabrio and Gran Coupe takes you to ten models.

But BMW are investigating alternative concepts such as a larger Advanced Family Activity Sports Tourer - A mix of Coupe, Touring , SAV and MPV (think Citroen DS5) And a Shooting Brake model of the Gran Coupe that can be added due to the flexibility of the F30's modular matrix.

How about the engine - i or V?

Looks great! Now, just add a bulge in the hood and then I think it would be complete.

There won´t be an bulge in the hood, because all possible engines would fit without one!

Greets Uli_HH
P.S. ... the exhaust pipes are closer together - as typical for M3 with 4 pipes , take a look on the spypics ... on the rendering are the configuration typical for the M5!

The air curtain intakes look a bit "undecided," but who cares? Nice work!

By far the best renderings so far. Really dig the M3 Sedan mock-up in dark gray. Excellent choice of rims and looks better w/out the power dome hood scoops.

Great job!
