4 Months of ownership-carbonstructure interior

Thought I make a quick post on my impression of the '18 F80. Let me start by saying the 1200 mile break in period was torture. Once that was out of the way , what a completely different animal this car turned out to be.. here is a summary of build, lol not that much.

I went with a simple build. I wanted a manual, but unfortenelty NY traffic sucks, so took the auto option. I didn't go with leather, I saw no reason for leather since air condition seats were not an option. I did carbonstructure and I am never going back to leather again. Amazing hold, they appear to be very well built. Other than that, I didn't click any of the other options.*

So far I am not crazy about the exhaust sound, ordering a Dinan full system. One upgrade I did was changed the air filter to k&n, only difference so far is the turbo whistle is louder .

Future upgrade as mentioned, exhaust and the carbon bits every one puts on. So far I am pleased with the car.

Liking the carbonstructure more than I thought I would (bought CPO). Wondering how it will wear vs. full leather.

I think better than leather. I have been reading about the quality of bwm' s leather and it's not all that good. Unless you are getting the 7 series .

I didn't. Blasted out of the Welt onto the Autobahn and hit the limiter immediately. Zero issues.

I like the seats OP. Might consider it on the next F82. The leather in our cars doesn't wear that well.

After 3 years my carbonstructure seats look the same as the day I picked up the car. No wear that I can see so far, love these seats in the summer time as I don't burn my back when I get in the car after being out in the sun all day.

Drove the M with carbon structure seats back at CES Vegas 3 years ago and fell in love. If I was ordering a new M it would never be with leather.

Had cloth seats for 3 years on a 2015 M4 and ordered them again on the car I picked up last Saturday. One of my favorite things about these cars; I'm over leather.

I was going with the carbonstructure seats until I realized I couldn't get the leather dash. I just feel that makes such a difference on the interior. Wish you could do both! Seats look great!

Only trying to offer a 'practical' advantage of leather...if you or your passengers are 'active'--the BMW leathers wipe clean easily.

I've got a 15-y.o. boy and carpool his friends, couple that with the biking / running my wife and I do...so glad for leather seats that wipe-off and don't soak-up the sweat.

I have two cars with suede / cloth seat sections...and in those cars I'm carrying towels, but it's definitely maddening when the passengers beat you to the car and/or get-in before I get the chance to distribute the 'seat liners'.
