MY18 Fire Orange F80 ZCP - Hunt for Allocation & Order/Delivery Timeline

I've been following a lot of threads over the last few months so I figured I'd post my experience.

I started looking for an allocation in late February 2018. I put out feelers to a dozen dealers in California. Most of them yanked my chain for a couple weeks but one of the larger dealers in SoCal came through just like they said they could.

My build is as follows -

2018 M3 Sedan

490 - Fire Orange II
LKDA - Sakhir Orange extended leather interior
4WL - Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
ZCP - Competition Package
2CQ - 20" 666m black forged wheels
ZEC - Executive Package

Currently on the Morning Linda ship due to arrive at Port Hueneme on 6/25/18. Hoping to take delivery first week of July.

Took delivery on July 4th!

Well... they are nothing alike in my opinion.

But I agree with you, I couldn't stomach the Individual color up-charge either!

The up charge on the color wasn't my biggest concern it was more being able to get an allocation and a custom color at the same time. I had come down to either Miami Blue or Fire Orange but decided on Fire Orange as its my daughter's favorite color. She is going to go bonkers when she sees it.

Nice build! My wife's F80 just got off the Morning Linda in Baltimore today. We did Euro delivery on May 9 and are waiting for a date for redelivery at the PC, so you will likely have your car before she gets hers back.

Car is now due to hit the port tomorrow on the 26th. Anyone know how long it takes for the port accessories and processing through customs etc to get on a carrier to a dealer in SoCal? I was thinking maybe mid to late next week?

Ours took 8 days and ours was an ED. So I would imagine about the same because of the port installed options. Just depends how backed up the VPC is.

Congrats!! I have Fire Orange but played it safe with full black, that’s my biggest regret, in hindsight I’d have gone full Sakhir instead!

The car arrived at the port as expected on the 26th. The port accessories are due to be completed today and I am hoping to pickup at my dealer early next week.

FO+ ZCP + 666M Black= stunning!!

I know it's to late, full interior leather for the contrast between the sakhir and black = sharp!

Just heard from my sales rep that my car is currently scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday to the dealer and I plan to pickup the same day. Can't wait!

BMW Genius says they don't expect the car to be delivered till the 10th of this month to the dealer but the dealer told me yesterday the trucking company is expecting to deliver tomorrow? Anybody else had conflicting info like this before?

Not sure who has the most current info?

Congratulations on a beautiful specc'ed F80 friend! I can't wait to see pictures as well as potentially see you around! I'm from SLO as well.

I'd say that given how many accessories you had port installed I'd go with the 10th. Just to be on the safe side. I've never heard of conflicting information but it's possible that you could be getting the car earlier than expected. That's what happened to mine actually. got my car a week earlier than anticipated. Genius would have the most up to date information as up to date as can be of course.

I actually got to pick her up yesterday! Totally awesome experience! I will post photos when I get a chance to take some better ones this weekend.
