Some of you already know:
Put the order in for Tanzanite/SS on February 15
Received the Production number February 16
Called Genius early March - Initial build week assigned for April 9 (long wait, but doable)
Called Genius this morning and they said "estimated" production completion week is May 20!

No explanation why the delay
Asked my Sales Adviser to call the Regional guru and check if there are delays due to Tanzanite (I have my second favorite of current colors), and the reply is that there is no specific reason for the delay - I am 112 (daily production pack, whatever that means), and nothing beyond that.

If I change my color to non-individual (debating between MG or AW), they would have to re-assign the production week and no guarantees it would be pulled in.

For Tanzanite orders -- any of you experiencing added delays (as of last few days)? Any orders put in mid of February or later that went into production already?

I ordered a Tanzanite M4 on March 5th. I was given a build number and was told I should expect delivery at the end of May. I am OK with this because that is when the lease on my 2015 ends.

Think thats bad? I ordered an individual color (non BMW color) in the last week of November and it only just went into production this past Friday.

I placed my Tanzanite order in beginning of January. Was initially set for Build Week 4. Somehow the production number got screwed up. Got another production number for Week 14. Genius last week told me Week 15. This week they are telling me, Week 18.

So going from week 4 to 18, has been horrible. At first I was upset, at this point I just want to see if I can beat all records of how long it takes to make a car.

My last order (Azuite (also semi individual) took 3 months from day of order, to day I received it. I am already past that timeframe and the car has not even gone in to production.

Anyone know when MY 2019 will begin? I’m going from tanz ‘15 to tanz ‘18, and just got a production number on 3/13. If it’s going to be delayed like some of you guys, I’ll happily extend my lease and get a ‘19. The ‘18’s started in 3/17, so maybe before the usual August change?

Sounds about right. When I ordered my TZB, they initially told me about 2.5 months, but that turned into 4.5 months before the car was delivered.

Ordered a SMB M4 in 2nd week of Oct, production completed last week. Will be picking it up mid April.

Production was shifted back 4 weeks from proposed production week.

That's crazy man..jeez. Funny we were talking a couple of weeks ago you told me something about the delay. Mine I ordered End of Feb is landing in NJ tomorrow! Glad I went with MG now lol

The other option is to locate TZB car on transit that has not been spoken yet, aka dealer trade. Assuming you don't have crazy other options on the inside, like full leather with funny color stitching etc, even that, it could be sticky fast cause not all dealers are open for trade.

To me at the end, if you really love that TZB (sounds like you are not sure anymore) then stick with it, you'll be living at least 3 years or longer with it so what a couple months longer wait. Not sure about incentive lock though

I ordered my Tanzanite M4 in mid June 2017 and finally took delivery on the 24th Jan. this year. It was originally scheduled for delivery mid August 2017 but every now and then slipped back a couple of weeks. The official explanation was that I'd ordered the individual leather dash but I can't see how that would have been the real reason. Either way, it was a long wait.

Damn, looks like my production has been pushed back too (Tanzanite M3).

When I first got my production number at the beginning of the month my CA said it was scheduled for week 14. When I first called BMW Genius a week or two ago they said week 17. Just got off the phone with them and today they said week 20.

We placed an order for my wife's Individual San Marino Blue M3 CP with Individual Polar Blue contrasting stitching in November for a May 16 Euro Delivery. Dealer didn't get an allocation until the first week in February and gave us the production number a few days later. As soon as I got the production number I called BMW and was told that the production week was week 17. The European Delivery Welcome Kit showed up on March 1, but our delivery date hadn't been confirmed yet.

On March 5 our dealer called us and told us that BMW couldn't produce the car in time for our requested delivery date. Apparently, Individual interiors are "batched" and the next batch wasn't scheduled until early June. We were offered a delivery date the week of June 25. There goes our bucket list plan to attend the Gran Prix of Monaco at the end of May!

After looking at the calendar we decided to request a delivery date of July 18 so that we could attend the German Grand Prix. We submitted our new dates to our dealer and were confirmed for our new delivery date on March 15. Our new production week is week 23.

We had to completely re-book all of the hotels for an entire three week trip which would take us to Lake Como, ending in Paris. Fortunately, we were able to re-book everything and get reservations at a hotel in Heidelberg for Grand Prix weekend. Other than the trip down to Monaco/Nice for that Gran Prix, our trip is nearly identical, just two months later...
