Is BMW still producing the F80? Update: Production through at least 7/18

Couldnt get a order or a ED thru my dealer here in NYC.. They are saying they are all gone and done with.

don't take one particular dealer's word for it. call nationwide dealerships, highest volume first (excellence award winners). If 10, 11, 12 of them are telling you the same thing... then perhaps it's time to concede.

Called BMWNA, they said production hasn’t ended. We’ll see, I’m prepared to wait a few more weeks and if still no allocation I’ll probably switch to an M4, or try for an M2 Comp.

Per my dealer, there are only a handful of order slots left in the entire country.

Even when allocations are gone (meaning no more unsold or changeable order) that doesn't mean production has ceased. BMW F80 will still be produced even after all allocations are gone.

I'd escalate your situation to Sales Manager if you have a deposit with your local dealer and still waiting for allocations.

Today, if you want to order a BMW with a production guarantee, you need one of those slots - and that would require one of the dealers that has one of those slots to trade with your dealer (or you can find which dealers have slots).

And to be clear, we are at April 23rd, so there normally would be some open slots in June available - but there are not. So it does not look good for the future (and I really want a Tanzanite with sunroof!).

What do you mean by June? Doesn't a dealer get new allocations each month?

Or are you saying, dealers know in advance of the allocations they will get?

I think he’s saying dealers get an allocation in May for production at a later date.

They normally get their allocations in advance - not the month of. I think they are 3 month allocations and so they would have their summer ones by now. I can confirm, but that's sort of what I'm being told.

Another thought, perhaps there is just a gap in allocations to allow for M3 CS cars to have the slots? FWIW, we now have an indication of at least one July production date slotted, LINK.

I just called the BMW Genius hotline again to see if my status code had changed and my F80 M3 is now slotted to begin production during week-26, the last week of June. Sad to see the date slip but at least folks who are still waiting on allocations have some hope with two summer production dates confirmed. I guess we are sharing the line with the M3 CS cars after all, wish I had a picture of that!

When did you place your order? Mine is an individual color and it has been at status 112 for a couple weeks now. The order was approved for color on March 20th... BMW Genius says order is scheduled for production with no firm production date.

Said he sees the last production week is 26 and there is ONE unsold June allocation going to a dealer in California...

Just received word from my dealer a few hours ago:

"Am hearing reports that the m3 might be done with allocation everywhere in the USA at this time for the entire year. I'm not sure why or has to do with the M3cs.

I hate having you wait and sincerely apologize. At this point, I can't guarantee a slot even though I have requested a slot to be provided."

He then turned around and tried to sell me a M3 that was on their lot. Had almost same MSRP as my build but he tried tacking on another $1000 for driveoff and +$70 to my monthly payments. Haha...hope this isn't a trend that all dealers get onto.

The C63 is badass! In my opinion:

Pros: Fast as hell, nice interior, twin turbo V8 sound

Cons: Depreciation machine, no MT (the main deal breaker for me), not as special as an M in my opinion.
