F83 EQ settings?

I have the HK audio but kubax86 enabled the B&W expanded tone settings.

Does anyone have EQ settings that seem to hit the sweet spot for the F83? I realize this is subjective, but please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks!

Holy cow. I just dialed in his EQ settings and it is like I got an entirely new system in the car. I feel like it's 1989 and I got a Rockford Fosgate in the back of my minitruck

I could never get the hk sister to not sound muddy. after getting the full bavsound kit in my f 83 it had transformed the music system. you should look into it

I truly know the value of a good sound system. I spent $6K to overhaul my system in my 07 Mercedes E63 AMG. I replaced all the factory speakers with Focal speakers that had built in crossovers, added a 10" JL Audio Subwoofer in addition to (2) high firing piezo tweeters, incorporated a Audison Digital Sound Processor, added (2) additional Alpine Amplifiers. These components were incorporated into a unique enclosure mounted under the rear parcel shelf, so it's truly hidden. And the best part it looks factory. Now the sound is truly amazing.

Now for my F80 M3, I was messing with the infotainment NBTevo, and discovered the equalizer, and that made a world of difference. As for my F85 X5M has a different system ID4, so the controls are located in a different sub-menu.

But the equalizers dramatically improves that sound quality in our vehicles.

Completely agree with this. The EQ settings this guy suggests in the video embedded above are really transformative. I still can't believe the difference the settings make!

Thank you, will do. That said, the updated EQ settings really have made it sounds like my car has a new system.

I spent all that money to make my AMG sound better, and BMW has this already incorporated into their vehicles, granted my E63 is 17 years old, so it needed a complete overhaul

Look up "the perfect eq settings" and mimic that curve. That transformed my stock hk system.

Does the OEM system in your AMG not have an EQ?

This thread (and the video) is super helpful. First of all it reminded me our sound system has an EQ (which I hadn’t understood since on my screens the EQ choice is at the top (not bottom like in the video)) and my default screen view for some reason starts at “Bass”. I have to know to scroll UP one click to see the EQ choice. That said I found the recommended settings in the video spot on for me other than 200. For that I went -2 vs -6.

Is it possible to code the extra EQ settings on the 2015 hifi system? I .. sort of have that? - that's the speaker config/count, but i've replaced the amp with the bimmertech one. In theory, that has a very good EQ/DSP combo, but frankly, I would prefer something easier to adjust than a laptop + lengthy USB cable (ESPECIALLY as my car is early enough it doesn't have the ski passthru).

I also have bimmerlink, but all i see is the 'hifi system' which i think is set to 'active', and frankly am not into just clicking buttons in there. :-D

You have NBT as opposed to NBTevo. Not sure whether you can code the NBT head unit to enable these settings, but kubax86 would know. Suggest you PM him.

You cannot,
However, I set a preset for the Logic 7 because some songs sound like shit with it and some do not. Therefore, it's easy to change tone on the fly.
