That is an awesome video! He's really selling it! He's an amazing race car driver but what's up with wearing the harness AND the 3 point?

Again, there it is, car set up Max rear down force. Sure this guy is a racecar driver, but a Max rear setting is For wet track. This track seems pretty fast, and I would Love to see this car laptime on nr. 2 rear setting wich is For dry track. I know For sure a wet setting on fast Nurburgring will slow you down up and down them fast sections.

wouldn't the aero settings be completely a function of the track? I know my RS was fastest at COTA with a full wing. T2 and T16-18 were much faster.

Where did you get your info that the max angle setting on the wing is for wet track only? Because that's not true. The nurburgring lap time was done with aeros at max down force and it was a dry track.

Al info on wing setting is printed in track info book that come with the car. BMW m motorsport should know, as they developed car 24month.

So where did you get info that record lap was Max rear wing?

So why should I put my rear wing Max aero on dry track when BMW M say thats For wet track? Thats very clear in book.

Also when i stydy vmax on Gts when factory lap vs sport auto lap, It get me thinking. Christian at sport auto is god driver, he should at least reach same vmax on Döttingerhöe long straight as factory. That section is not a big challenge For Christian sport auto. Still he is 275 vmx vs Factory 280 vmax.
All pics of sport auto on GTS is also rear wing Max nr.3(wet setting)

What is printed in the booklet is a guide and baseline for you to start. Each track will be different and you fine tune for your preferences. Do you think all the F1 cars running on the same circuit is setup the same? Heck, each driver might even have their own preference of tread compound on the same track.

You think this guy beside me might know?

The lap BMW M did was in the fall with cooler temperature. Sport Auto did their lap on a very hot day. You don't think that might make a difference?

The info we received spending 4 hours with Christoph(Chassis/Suspension engineer) seems to contradict the written in stone theory of the Captain as well M4GTS.

Think of the difference between Monaco and Monza. The track always needs to be taken into consideration with aero settings, wet and dry.

Its not writen in stone at all, as I Said it got me thinking, about What setting then accually drove. There is also mecanical grip, then there is aero. To much rear wing will slow you down on the fast tracks, still we just speculate. I dont know wich setting anybody drove. But Max rear is For wet track. @ M4 GTS, well the F1 comparsion is not that solid. Due to 99% will only need to drive 2 setting on the GTS, that would be street or track setting. As well Max aero rear For enhanced wet gripp. Or are you saying you could find a better overall setting among the 2500 possible?

My guess is no, we could do fine on most tracks in track setting, and street setting on Nur.

Yes. I do not feel using the term "street" setting is spot on with the GTS. It is a track oriented chassis in all its settings. So yes, the driver must test and choose what works best for them and given track conditions.
