HomeLink Won't Program

Ok guys this is the second BMW I've owned in 4 months that has this issue. When I bought my M4 I traded in a 428 that I had also attempted to program and it didn't work. So this time, during delivery, I had the dealership's BMW genius program the 2 homelink buttons for both my garage doors to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong and sure enough, it still won't work. I have a LiftMaster garage door opener and I had one at my old house as well though for some reason that one worked on my previous M4. I figure, same brand garage door opener and same brand car it has to work! It doesn't.

HELP!

You can't program those buttons at the dealer away from you house unless the Genius came to your house. You have to do it at the house because all modern door openers use a rolling code that you can't pick up unless your at home.

Thank you!!! I didn't know that. I'll try it at home. I just wanted to avoid having the door open and close as I program it.

The door has to open or close during programming. Once the door moves then you know you are set. Make sure you hold the outer two buttons for about twenty seconds or so until you see a fast flash. That step clears the mirror for programming. Then press the button on the mirror and the corresponding button on your clicker. As soon as you hit the button on your clicker the door will move then once the homelink programs it will stop and reverse itself. Then do the other button and your good. Don't hold the outer buttons again though because it will clear the one you just programmed.

Have they updated the homelink to work with the 2.0 protocols yet?

Yes, my '16 F80 (May build) works with my Liftmaster Security+ 2.0 opener without having to use a repeater.
